CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games between PSV v TOTTENHAM, BARCELONA v INTER MILAN and LIVERPOOL v CRVENA ZVEZDA with recommended BETDAQ bets.

PSV V TOTTENHAM

5.55pm It’s early in the competition but this really is a must win game for Spurs. They’ve played two and lost two in this Group so far and dropping points against PSV, also with 0 points, would basically see them having to beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou to have a chance of staying in the Champions League; and the chances of that are unlikely. It’s fair to say that PSV won’t be as tough of a test as Inter Milan and Barcelona but Spurs are away from home and in a tricky situation with the pressure on.

Spurs are clear favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; PSV 3.95, Tottenham 2.02 and the draw is 3.9. PSV are in superb form domestically however that good form hasn’t transferred into the Champions League; although they have had to play Barcelona and Inter after all! We can see PSV making this a very tough evening for Spurs and we’re happy to lay the away side at 2.02 – we just feel that this one will be a lot closer than those odds suggest.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Tottenham at 2.02.

BARCELONA V INTER MILAN

8pm Barcelona won’t have good memories of facing Inter Milan, however they will have to face them without their star man as Messi was injured at the weekend. Many punters will recall Barcelona turning on the sprinklers as Jose Mourinho celebrated on the pitch and if Barca get a chance to embarrass Inter with a big scoreline they won’t think twice about taking that chance!

Barcelona are heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Barcelona 1.57, Inter Milan 6.6 and the draw is 4.5. It’s fair to say that Inter aren’t the force they once were and it would be a big surprise to see anything other than a Barca win here; however they have struggled in La Liga this season and are now without Messi. Perhaps we won’t see as many goals as we are used to seeing at the Camp Nou and we’re happy to back some unders here at the odds. Under 3.5 goals is trading 1.63 and that looks too big – Inter will come to defend and Barca without Messi just aren’t the same team going forward.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 3.5 goals at 1.63.

LIVERPOOL V CRVENA ZVEZDA

8pm This Group is wide open after Liverpool lost to Napoli on matchday two and the reds will need three points tonight against the weak link in the Group. It’s fairness to Klopp’s men going to Napoli was always going to be a tough away trip and they have been excellent in the Premier League to date. It’s very difficult to see anything but an easy Liverpool win here and the markets agree.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Liverpool 1.08, Crvena Zvezda 50.0 and the draw is 17.0. It’s not often we see prices such as these in the Champions League but this one doesn’t seem too short! This is Crvena Zvezda, or Red Star as they are known, first time in the Champions League for 26 years and they will be delighted to be involved in European nights like this – however it’s hard to see them coping with the class of Liverpool. Red Star were excellent against Napoli however they shipped six goals to PSG and we expect Liverpool to bang in the goals here too. Any Other Home Win (Liverpool to score four or more and win) is trading 1.98 in the Correct Score market and we’re happy to take those odds.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Any Other Home Win at 1.98.
