CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games between ATALANTA v VALENCIA and TOTTENHAM v RB LEIPZIG both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ATALANTA V VALENCIA

8pm Given the big names in the Champions League, this isn’t the most glamorous tie but it’s an interesting clash nonetheless. Atalanta came out second best in a weak group bar Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s men ended up with double the amount of points Atalanta had, while Valencia came through a very tough group with Chelsea and Ajax. They managed to top that group and knock out Ajax, who should now be a big force in the Europa League.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade: Atalanta 1.8, Valencia 4.9 and the draw is 4.1. Atalanta away will always be a reasonably tough tie. They managed to hold City to a 1-1 draw here in the Group stages, although City had basically topped the group at that stage. Valencia definitely have more quality in their side and they managed to beat Chelsea and Ajax away from home. We have to lay the home side at 1.8 here as we can’t see the game not being closer than those odds suggest. Valencia can easily get a result here and from a value point view, we have to lay Atalanta.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Atalanta at 1.8.

TOTTENHAM V RB LEIPZIG

8pm The Champions League has been quite the rollercoaster for Spurs, yet here we are. They would have been delighted with the draw given the sides that they could have got, but they are still outsiders to qualify. Spurs started the competition with a different manager, conceded seven goals to Bayern Munich and have had some rollercoaster 90 minutes with Jose Mourinho! What can you say, only that Jose Mourinho is box office wherever he goes. Spurs will need to improve at the back if they are to qualify.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Tottenham 2.54, RB Leipzig 3.0 and the draw is 3.6. Spurs needed an injury time winner at the weekend after again conceding two goals. Their away record remains poor and they will need to win tonight to take an advantage into the second leg. The good news for Spurs is that they were able to beat Manchester City here recently and they seem a lot more solid at home. It’s still hard to not see them conceding at some stage though and given how bad they have been at the back, we like over 2.5 goals at 1.7. We’re bound to have drama in this one!

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 2.5 goals at 1.7.
