CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games with a recommended BETDAQ bet. It’s the final set of games in the Group phase and we preview REAL MADRID V DORTMUND, LIVERPOOL V SPARTAK MOSCOW, SHAKHTAR V MANCHESTER CITY and TOTTENHAM V APOEL.

REAL MADRID V DORTMUND

7.45pm What a great game to start our preview! Real had yet another disappointing result at the weekend when drawing 0-0 against Bilbao, and pressure is starting creep onto Zidane. Given that Spurs beat them too, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll top the group here – so perhaps we could see a shock sacking if Real exit the Champions League early. Even considering Real playing below their usual level, they should beat Dortmund here, who have been poor this season. They only have two points in Group H, and have been poor domestically too. They are without a win in their last six games in all competitions, and couldn’t even beat Apoel at home or away in the group. Real simply look too big here at 1.49 with the way Dortmund are playing at the moment, and while it would be nice if Real were in better form themselves, the home win still looks too big to ignore.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Real Madrid to beat Dortmund at 1.49.

LIVERPOOL V SPARTAK MOSCOW

7.45pm Things are tighter in Group E compared to most groups, however Liverpool look certain of going through bar losing very heavily here and Sevilla also winning. They are in good form at the moment too, having scored 19 goals in their last six games in all competitions. Spartak Moscow aren’t short of goals in their games either, however it’s hard to see them living with that kind of attacking here. Liverpool have a great record at home this season too, they have yet to be beaten here in all competitions. We feel that this game screams goals, and with over 3.5 goals trading 2.1 that looks to be a very tempting bet. Liverpool to cover the handicap is an option too, however Spartak Moscow have scored 12 goals in their last five games in all competitions and considering that Liverpool still give away plenty of chances, over 3.5 goals looks the best bet here at 2.1.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 3.5 goals at 2.1.

SHAKHTAR V MANCHESTER CITY

7.45pm Many punters will have a double take here when clicking into the markets – Man City aren’t favourites! The match odds at the time of writing are currently trading; Shakhtar 2.72, Man City 2.9 and the draw is 3.45. Obviously with City guaranteed of top spot in Group F and having the Manchester Derby at the weekend, we can expect a weakened City side here. However, with the resources that City have these days, the second XI are no push overs and it is pretty tempting to back them at 2.9 given the football they have been playing this season. Even in their last few games, they haven’t been superb but they have got the job done – they are seemingly unstoppable at the moment! Shakhtar have been solid in the Champions League this season, and only need a draw here for second place. We feel that the best value play here is the Shakhtar lay at 2.72 – if they’re drawing with ten minutes to go, they’re hardly going to be busting a gut to win given that’s all they need, and City are so classy it’s hard not to have them on your side when they aren’t favourites.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Shakhtar at 2.72.

TOTTENHAM V APOEL

7.45pm Spurs are certainly having a blip in their season at the moment, although you wouldn’t know it in the Champions League. They are without a win in their last four Premier League games, and apart from Arsenal they have been held to a draw or beaten by sides who they should really be beating given their class. With the home win currently trading as low as 1.29, perhaps it is shrewd to avoid lumping on Spurs at those odds for the time being. They should still come through this fixture though, Apoel have never won away from home in the Champions League, although they did manage to stop Dortmund from winning twice in the group this season. With Spurs struggling at the moment, we like Apoel on the handicap. They will probably feel that a draw might get them through to the Europa League and come here to defend, they are getting 2 goals in the Asian Handicap market and trading 1.65 which looks too high. Bets are void if Spurs win be exactly two, and with no wins by that margin in their last six games, it looks a good bet.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Apoel +2 goals (Asian Handicap) to beat Tottenham at 1.65.
