VALUE-BETTING CHALLENGE IS BACK: Four races from Cheltenham are on terrestrial TV today and Daqman and Pricewise, who finished 58-42 for winners on the Flat, both have bets in the 1.45 and 2.20. Daqman has beaten Pricewise for 18 consecutive seasons, with the value available in BETDAQ an ace in his hand.

A GLANCING BLOW TO THE LAYERS

⭕ 1.45 Cheltenham Sub-11st runners win this (7-10) but there’s only a 15lb range today and I can’t fancy the two at the bottom of the handicap: Gold Des Bois has won small-field races (beat Malystic at Kelso) and Monsieur Lecoq has been out of form on a sound surface; he needs rain.

The Glancing Queen has won first time two Novembers running; she has won only mares chases but one of them was over the Cheltenham CD, and she was runner-up in the Dipper over further here in January.

The winner, L’Homme Presse, went on to take the Scilly Isles (Fugitif fourth) and Brown Advisory Plate (Cheltenham Festival), and is a 2022-23 Fortune Cookie with lofty targets, including the King George.

Fugitif’s stable has hit a couple of top targets already this season, so he could show improvement today.

Even more of a hidden horse may be Grey Diamond for Sam Thomas, who has also surged early. Grey Diamond, who is not grey at all, but named after sire and dam, Gris De Gris and Diamond Of Diana, always goes well after a break.

Amarillo Sky was a well-beaten fifth in the Grand Annual (Hasankey sixth), after winning well on Newbury slow ground.

All others have raced recently, with Captain Tom Cat, who landed a hat-trick last year as a novice, trying first-time blinkers.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.2 Grey Diamond, 5.5 The Glancing Queen

IRISH RULE AT CHELTENHAM AGAIN

⭕ 2.20 Cheltenham Some decent winners of this 2m 4f novices’ handicap chase, notably Protektorat in 2020; he will be running for Fortune Cookies in the Lancashire Chase at Haydock next weekend against previous winners A Plus Tard and Bristol De Mai.

Another Fortune Cookie, Flaming Porter, reappears for Gavin Cromwell on Sunday in the Grade-2 Lismullen Hurdle at Navan.

Cromwell has one in the opener here today and another in this, Railway Hurricane, raised 7lb for a string of placed efforts, now trying to improve on his 0-14 chase record.

Another Irish raider, Hereditary Rule, has been in fine form (1124211) since the Spring, but raised only 8lb for three chase strikes over easy fences compared to those in this race.

This is his big chance to step up for the John McConnell stable which had three winners at the October meeting here.

A course winner here over hurdles, Pull Again Green was third at Cheltenham on his chasing debut.

Three-time hurdles winner and former Pointer, Unanswered Prayers, makes his debut over fences, and experience counts for a lot around here.

BETDAQ value 5.9 Hereditary Rule

DANCER MAGIC SHOWS FIRST TIME

⭕ 2.55 Cheltenham Magic Dancer, a Graded-level hurdler, including here at Cheltenham, won his debut chase after the break last autumn and went on to reach the frame over fences every time in eight attempts until scoring again at Ludlow.

Broken Quest landed a 3m-plus hat–trick in the Spring and, like the 2018 Welsh National winner, Elegant Escape, may find this 2m 4f trip too short on a soundish surface.

All are getting weight from Ballyandy, whose top-class hurdles form in 2017-18 has never been matched in his chasing career.

Yet, for a single success over fences – just the one – he is now set within 7lb of his Graded hurdles mark, which the trade paper describes as ‘well handicapped’.

Even if that were true, he too prefers further and on soft ground. He gives Magic Dancer 17lb.

BETDAQ value 4.8 Magic Dancer

HUBRISKO FORM OOZES QUALITY

⭕ 3.30 Cheltenham Look out, Willie’s about! Ireland’s master trainer Willie Mullins saddles Hubrisko for this, a Ballymore Novices Hurdle also being raided by Gordon Elliott, and defended by Paul Nicholls, Jonjo O’Neill, Nigel Twiston-Davies and Dan Skelton.

Hubrisko was third in a Grade-3 at Tipperary last month, which the Mullins yard won with Champ Kiely, now unbeaten in three starts under Rules.

Champ Kiely and Hubrisko were split that day by Brazil, winner of the Fred Winter at the festival last March.

Just behind Hubrisko was Plains Indian, who has subsequently won a Listed at Limerick.

The form oozes quality and, with the top yards turning out for this, and every runner unbeaten or winning already this autumn, we can expect to see a Fortune Cookie emerge.

Hermes Allen, a £350,000 Irish Point buy, absolutely cantered round Stratford. Collectors Item won well on his hurdling debut at Chepstow but was touched off in a Newbury bumper by Weveallbeencaught in the Spring.

BETDAQ value 3.0 Hubrisko

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
