NOW FOR SILVER CAMBRIDGESHIRE: Today: key players in Daqman’s Cambridgeshire ABC for Saturday, plus the Silver Cambridgeshire this afternoon. Toe to toe with Pricewise in the 2.25 and 3.0 but the Post man ducks the Silver.

GOSDEN! ‘WISS’ ONE WILL WIN?

3.40 Newmarket Saturday CAMBRIDGESHIRE
Great eight! Daqman’s top eight for the the Ayr Gold Cup produced the dead-heaters in the race at 5-1 and 28-1. Now he wants the Cambridgeshire one-two from his ABC for Saturday (key in Wednesday’s column). Three trained by John Gosden get into the top eight: Wissahickon, Stylehunter and Tricorn. Check out what remains after the overnight decs today:

ABCDEX Wissahickon Had only six outings (121101), failing to run to form only once.
ABCDX Mordin Form figures of 111222 until raised to class 2 at York. Had a break.
ABCD Danceteria Has raced just nine times, including four wins in a row since June.
ABCD Euro Nightmare Interesting dropped from the Pattern.
ABCD Kings Gift Two lean years until winning a handicap at Ayr last month after being gelded.
ABCX UAE Prince Runner-up in a big field on reappearance in May but not seen since.
ABDEX Stylehunter Placed every race after his debut, 322101, except in the Britannia
ABDEX Tricorn Hat-trick in Spring of 2017 and third of 29 in the Britrannia so high in the ratings

SILVER AWARD FOR ESCAPE PLOT

5.15 Newmarket (Silver Cambridgeshire) Three-year-olds dominate (six out of the eight since the main race was divided). Four winners had just missed the cut for Saturday, including Addeybb last September who followed up in this year’s Lincoln.

Highest ranking of the second-season contenders today is History Writer, who will need to step up on his game, with this his third race in a row off a mark of 92.

I’m more interested in the booking of Silvestre De Sousa for Escape The City, a filly 10lb lower in the handicap, a hidden Hughie Morrison: 11.5 taken on BETDAQ.

Stalls 1 and 2 (three wins) have done well on the rail; but 11-18 have bagged four. With Escape The City in 3, I’ll go to the other side for my second bet.

Like Jus Pires (Jamie Spencer in 5), Newbury Spring Cup third Keyser Soze (18, goes well fresh; 19.0 offers) and Capton (Ryan Moore 20) have been saved up for an autumn campaign.

Moore rode the giant galloper Capton (14.5 offers) at the Dante meeting when he caught the eye, trying to make all. The stable has been out of sorts during the summer and may be ready now for some late-season hits.

BESHAAYIR BIG AT BETDAQ 9.6

1.50 Newmarket Laugh Aloud has won another Listed and a Group 3, racing only five times since taking this race two years ago.

But the handicapper thinks that Unforgetable Filly is 6lb better than the mare since she stormed eight lengths clear at Haydock.

Her victims in the summer included handicappers Beshaayir and Agrotera and her old rival Queen Of Time, who all take her on again.

I’ll try a bit of win and place Beshaayir, who was favourite to beat Unforgetable Filly at Ascot in July but was hampered and pushed back to last.

Returning to the same course recently, she banged her head leaving the stalls. The 9.6 BETDAQ offer ought to be placed, at least, granted a trouble-free run, getting 7lb from Unforgetable Filly.

2.25 Newmarket Star Rock is the pick on form but could do with an easier surface and I fancy Mrs Sippy (4.0 offers) to improve the necessary pound or two, getting half a stone from the favourite and my pick instead of the disappointing Ribblesdale third, Sun Maiden.

3.00 Newmarket (Rockfel Stakes) Favourites have a poor record in this (1-10) and both Main Edition and Just Wonderful are exposed as in and out, each one locked on a 107 rating.

Yourtimeisnow will set them a target but a fast pace should help Dutch Treat (BETDAQ 9.6 ), who has not been helped by slow-run races the last twice.

Found the May Hill a tad too far at this stage but ran well twice against the colts, and dropping back a furlong will suit.

3.35 Newmarket Mustashry was only seventh of eight in this last year. Zabeel Prince is interesting on his return but needs some cut.

So this may rest between Queen Anne winner Accidental Agent and Mustashry’s stablemate, Regal Reality (3.45), who gets weight all round and had the ground against him on the last day
