REDICEAN FORM ON SHOW: NAP!

1.45 Southwell (Back Or Lay on Betdaq ‘Jumpers’ Bumper’ NH Flat Race) Shine Baby Shine is 2-2 on Fibresand (Flat) at this venue but in class 6, and could have difficulty keeping up with two pace horses.

Front-runner Swashbuckle has yet to recover his form and he could be overtaken by 2.9 BETDAQ offer Haulani, second at Kempton to the BETDAQ Adonis Hurdle winner, Redicean, now vying for favouritism in the Triumph Hurdle (5.1 on BETDAQ this morning).

2.15 Southwell (Betdaq ‘Changing For The Bettor’ ‘Jumpers Bumper’ NH Flat Race) Tomngerry, from the Haulani stable, looks sure to be long odds-on. He extended two bumper wins into a four-timer with back-to-back hurdles success.

All that was two years ago on very soft ground, as were his best runs since, including on the last day at Carlisle 11 days ago.

But the opposition looks tame. I had a pound on The Society Man at 23.0 on BETDAQ for pure devilment against a 1.1 favourite!

2.45 Southwell (Betdaq Exchange Virtuals ‘Jumpers Bumper’ NH Flat Race) Brian Ellison has lined up a hat-trick with Bordeaux Bill following up Haulani and Tomngerry.

He was back to form on the last day but as a 3m chaser.

Nautical Nitwit might yet have more speed, a hurdles winner four times although, again, over longer distances.

It was in 2013 that Volcanic won three bumpers in France but though he’s lacked a finish, he’s been well to the fore over hurdles.

It’s a case of just who dare charge off round these bends. Surely the dawdlers won’t have the speed to catch him. At the offers I’ll have a punt on Volcanic (4.0).

LOOK OUT! HERE’S COMPANY

3.20 Southwell (First Months Commission Back On Betdaq ‘Jumpers Bumper’ NH Flat Race) Donald McCain is having a great season and, if he doesn’t win with Volcanic, things look good for Man Look.

Twice a winner after a break, has scored on AW Flat turf and over hurdles.

Ray’s The Money has also seen a rear view of Redicean, and Brian Ellison has yet another contender with Its Pandorama, though his record after a break is P04.

More interesting is Brotherly Company, who has won on the Fibresand here and whose trainer goes for a Southwell hat-trick in eight days in three different disciplines, after scoring over hurdles and fences.

Brotherly Company, favourite this morning and Man Look may seesaw in the market, so I took 3.7 Man Look, hoping to get at least that about Brotherly Company later on.

3.50 Southwell (Betdaq Now 2% Commission ‘Jumpers Bumper’ NH Flat Race) The defection of Hammersley Lake could give the Green Light for another Brian Ellison success, his pair presumably able to employ tactics against Good Tradition (Donald McCain).

Good Tradition, off 239 days, has won twice after a break, but it’s his first run on a man-made surface.

Offered at 3.5, Green Light’s form after an absence is 2102F4. He’s flopped on Tapeta but is related to a sand winner and has often aimed very much higher than today’s modest company.

Stablemate Newstart has been a bridesmaid over hurdles, apart from one win at Kelso, and his absence is less lengthy but of more concern, with form after previous holidays 0P02.

IT’S A DAY FOR DAQ MULTIPLES

4.20 Southwell (Free Trading Tools on Betdaq ‘Jumpers Bumper’ NH Flat Race) Brian Ellison is in the fray again (Siannes Star) but Fin And Game, dam a half-sister to a Champion Hurdle runner-up, looks home and hosed, two from two over hurdles, unless first-time visor can improve Miss Adventure.

I’d say not, as she’s already tried a hood twice and cheekpieces once. At least there won’t be hurdles in the way. Blundered away her chances four days ago at Plumpton.

5.00 Southwell (tips.betdaq.com Maiden Open NH Flat Race) Multitalented they ain’t and that one’s dam hated Fibresand.

But another odds-on favourite here, Flash The Steel, has me tempted to some Daq Multiples. Good form in bumpers at Ludlow and sole raider here today for Dan Skelton.
