THREE DERBYS UNDER THE DAQMAN MICROSCOPE: Today Daqman revises the top three in his stats verdicts on tomorrow’s Northumberland Plate (Pitman’s Derby) and the Irish Derby, and previews tonight’s Apprentice Derby at The Curragh.

MAC AND MAX FOR DERBY DOUBLE

⭕ DERBY ONE: 3.30 Newcastle tomorrow (Northumberland Plate)

102 THEMAXWECAN (5, Mark Johnston) After the knockouts to Daqman’s Thursday stats guide, Themaxwecan is left on top. Unbeaten on AW and a winner at Ascot and Goodwood over 2m.

100 LUCKY DEAL (6, Mark Johnston) Five times AW winner including over CD here at Newcastle, Lucky Deal makes it a 1-2 for Mark Johnston.

100 DUBIOUS AFFAIR (5, Charlie Fellowes) Second in 1m 6f handicap at Royal Ascot, and three in row over similar trips last summer.

⭕ DERBY TWO: 3.35 The Curragh, tomorrow (Irish Derby)

118 MAC SWINEY (Jim Bolger) Can the Irish 2,000 Guineas winner, only fourth in the Epsom Derby, get back on top of the three-year-old tree?

115 HIGH DEFINITION (Aidan O’Brien) Third to Hurricane Lane in the Dante.

115 LONE EAGLE (Martyn Meade) Fourth in the Sandown Classic Trial behind Royal Ascot winner Alenquer and Epsom Derby winner Adayar; will be ridden by Frankie Dettori.

⭕ DERBY THREE: See below for the Apprentice Derby at The Curragh today.

CLASSY LADY IS BIG VALUE AT 9.4

⭕ 3.25 Doncaster today A cracking little handicap, a race of winners, with an overall total strike rate of almost 50% for their 11 successes.

A dual winner as a juvenile, Lucid Dreamer’s second season was launched in the Fred Darling Stakes, in which she showed wayward signs; hence the hood today.

Liberated Lady, who strung out her field at Wolverhampton in November, finished six lengths in front of Lucid Dreamer that day.

Existent ran down the field in the Coventry Stakes and the Horris Hill last year but ran away from his rivals when asked to lengthen on heavy ground over the Rowley Mile 7f.

Showers on the Knavesmire will need to be heavy to get into the firm ground. Isla Kai won both his starts on the soft.

Ariel has improved a stone in completing a hat-trick in lower grade on firm, and William Muir has a hat-trick in mind for Shuv H’Penny King, also emerging from lower levels.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 9.4 Liberated Lady

YELLOW CAN DOUBLE YOUR MONEY

⭕ 4.20 Yarmouth Roger Varian appears to have found the perfect 7f race for the improver, Imperial Yellow, to step up in trip, after an impressive return to the track at Leicester the last day.

His first run after the debut last June was here at Yarmouth (6f), backed like the good thing he turned out to be. I’ve asked for evens in the orange of the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

RELY ON THE TOP DERBY TRAINERS

⭕ 6.00 The Curragh (Apprentice Derby) STATS: 3yo and 4yo total 7-10. Nine out of 10 drawn 10 or lower. Jim Bolger 3, Joseph O’Brien 2. Seven out of nine won by apprentices claiming 2lb or 4lb.

Beyond Happy, Chateau Musar, Igraine, Powerful Kieran and Time And Money fit several stats; none fit them all, so I’ll rely on the leading trainers in the race.

Powerful Kieran (Joseph O’Brien) is in cheekpieces first time for last year’s winning rider, Dylan Browne McMonagle, and has twice been placed in big fields this summer.

Stepping up to the 1m 4f trip for the first time, Beyond Happy is very lightly raced for Jim Bolger.
BETDAQ value 6.6 Beyond Happy, 7 Powerful Kieran

HOLLIE RUNNING FREE AT CHESTER

⭕ 8.10 Chester Hollie Doyle has a fascinating project at long odds tonight. She rides a 10-furlong horse in this 7f handicap and needs to shoot for the winning post straight out of the gates.

Mutaabeq is highly favoured by the one stall, where three of the last five winners have come from, and he is visored first time so he will have only one thing on his mind: winning. That’s the hopeful view.

BETDAQ value 9.4 Mutaabeq

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
