DAQMAN WAS ON 14-1 GUINEAS WINNER AT 28.0 BETDAQ OFFERS: Daqman named a stunning one-two for the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh yesterday (finish pictured above). His two BETDAQ bets crossed the line a short-head winner at 14-1 and a second at 9-2. But that’s only half the story: the honours go to BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value once again, with the winner nominated at almost DOUBLE the SP at 28.0 in Daqman’s preview of the race, and he won 40 points, win and place.

WON 14-1 EMPRESS JOSEPHINE (Irish 1,000 Guineas from 28.0 BETDAQ)
2nd 9-2 JOAN OF ARC (same race)

NOW HE’S 380 POINTS UP ON PRICEWISE WITH THE SCORE 26-10: Daqman’s analysis of Empress Josephine (‘could take a big leap forward’) applied also to his challenge to Pricewise of the Racing Post. The winner shot him more than 380 points in front to level stakes.

THE YEAR OF THE BALLYDOYLE GIRLS

Two possible bets for your notebook. For the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, Empress Josephine, ‘easy’ winner of the Irish 1,000 Guineas yesterday, and for the French Oaks (Prix de Diane), the runner-up at the Curragh, Joan of Arc.

‘Easy’ winner! Wasn’t it a short-head? It would have been smoother but Josephine’s stride was broken when she got unbalanced two furlongs out.

Joan Of Arc is ideally suited to 1m 2f, the distance of the Prix de Diane, while a clear run with yesterday’s dramatic burst of speed will see Empress Josephine scoot home at Royal Ascot.

The full sister to Minding was having only the fourth race of her life yesterday. Joan of Arc, sister to Gleneagles, has won on good ground and heavy ground, and I’d back my big-race predictions now but for a problem Aidan O’Brien is glad he’s got.

Whereas the master of Ballydoyle usually has sleepless nights at the drawing-board plotting the future of a hot handful of colts, this season he has a plethora of brilliant fillies.

Mother Earth and Santa Barbara, first and fourth (after just one run) in the Newmarket 1,000 Guineas, were the Ballydoyle top two. Until yesterday.

ATTENTION: TOP VALUE ON PARADE

⭕ 3.20 Ludlow There’s a ‘hidden horse’ here at a massive price in BETDAQ offers this morning, though I’m not sure he’ll like the ground if it turns really soft.

Soldier On Parade finished clear in a class 2 at Market Rasen in September to complete a good-ground hat-trick on the same course.

This year’s runs in the Adonis Hurdle and the Fred Winter at Cheltenham quite rightly made no impact in the markets.

But he’s had a break since then, apart from a quiet run on the Flat and, as a win and place in an eight-runner race, appeals as the outsider of the day, down in class.

BETDAQ value 16.5 Soldier On Parade

SPRING COULD ARRIVE IN THE RAIN

⭕ 4.10 Brighton I rarely back a winner last time out in a low grade of race, unless it’s just found form that could be anticipated in earlier races, is with a top stable in form; is well drawn; and would have to back-pedal on its overall CV.

Andrew Balding’s Spring Glow fits all those criteria. The grey filly is also helping herself to a sex allowance and has on board Jason Watson, who is 1-1 on her.

The opposition? Well, I don’t know which is worse, a maiden (like Ispahan) or a horse that’s won only his maiden (like Psyche); that’s always a bad sign.

The rest of my notes say: Derek Duval likes firm ground; and Financial Conduct has been beaten 167 lengths in his last six completed starts.

That leaves Genesius, to which another rule applies: don’t back a horse first time out for a new yard, if it’s a recent arrival.

Genesius arrived on May 18 at Sir Mark Prescott’s Newmarket yard from Julie Camacho’s in Yorkshire. The Teofilo colt has another red flag: absent 224 days.

In conclusion, Ispahan could improve down in grade for his second run after gelding, and Genesius is one to watch both in the market and on the track, but Spring Glow is better value. There were showers forecast but the ground was good last night.

BETDAQ value 4.3 Spring Glow

BETDAQ FANCY OFFER FOR FANTASY

⭕ 7.45 Windsor Warrior Brave has beaten just five horses home to score in two clever placings by his trainer, Michael Appleby.

But Appleby also runs Fantasy Master, who is 16lb better off for a six-lengths defeat by Nelson Gay at Sandown and 11lb for three lengths with Hey Mr on Nottingham form in October (soft).

Handicap sprinters take turns winning races and, with the soft ground in their favour, Hey Mr and Fantasy Master look best, with the BETDAQ value clearly Fantasy Master.

BETDAQ value 9.6 Fantasy Master

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
