Daqman completed a weekend of winners under both Rules when he switched from five Breeders Cup (Flat) strikes on Saturday night to three returns from the Jumps card at Sandown on Sunday, yet again illustrating the value available on BETDAQ:

DAQMAN’S 933 WINS IN EIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF PRICEWISE: The final score in Daqman’s Flat-season challenge to Pricewise was 62-40, taking the total of winning bets in eight years to DAQMAN 933, PRICEWISE 411 (see details below).

DAQMAN BEATS PRICEWISE 62-40

Goodbye to all that. The 2021 Flat finally left us like a damp squib at Doncaster at the weekend but alongside an absolute firecracker of a Breeders Cup meeting at Del Mar.

Some of the overall six winners for me there (see Sunday’s story) at last lifted Daqman’s score against Pricewise past the 60 mark, which I promised right at the start of the season.

The final score was 62-40 in races the Racing Post nominated since Doncaster in March, taking the total of winning bets in 16 seasons (eight years) to DAQMAN 933, PRICEWISE 411

This is how the value challenge to his arch-rival now looks over the last 12 seasons:

2013-14 NH season final score DAQMAN 39, PRICEWISE 12
2014 Flat season final score DAQMAN 69, PRICEWISE 47
2014-15 NH season final score DAQMAN 33, PRICEWISE 14
2015 Flat season final score DAQMAN 105, PRICEWISE 23
2015-16 NH season final score DAQMAN 51, PRICEWISE 20
2016 Flat season final score DAQMAN 88, PRICEWISE 40
2016-17 NH season final score DAQMAN 22, PRICEWISE 15
2017 Flat season final score DAQMAN 86, PRICEWISE 23
2017-18 NH season final score DAQMAN 27, PRICEWISE 14
2018 Flat season final score DAQMAN 87, PRICEWISE 27

2021 Flat season final score DAQMAN 62, PRICEWISE 40

*The 2021-22 Jumps challenge is likely to start on Friday and Saturday at Cheltenham.

THE HURDLE WITH A LEGACY

⭕ 12.50 Kempton Nicky Henderson introduced a smart sort (Epatante) to win this in 2018. She came back to Kempton to take the Christmas Hurdle the following year.

Then in March 2020 she won a little race at Cheltenham as one of the Fortune Cookies of this column. It was called the Champion Hurdle (thanks Barry Geraghty).

Another season, another chance to find an Epatante or two. The name means ‘amazing’ in French, and watching and reading about racing until I find such a horse is what keeps me going.

Midnights Legacy, a handicap winner at Epsom on Derby day, had an easy hurdles launch in a three-horse race, and I see the Racing Post ratings man thinks he’s already 21 points better than on the Flat

THOR LOOKED STYLISH ON DEBUT

⭕ 1.20 Kempton Sopran Thor ran right away from his field, a stylish first-time-fencing experience at Lingfield and, like Midnights Legacy, appears to have been found an opportunity against lesser types to get another one on the board before he is forced up to a stronger level.

ANOTHER DODDIE CHARITY STRIKE

⭕ 1.55 Kempton Here’s Nicky Henderson at last, trying to fire in a hat-trick for the charity horse, Doddiethegreat, who has no relations in Knotty Ash but was named by Kenny Alexander after the Doddie Weir Foundation.

Fifrelet appears to have done nothing wrong, though trainer Ian Williams seems to think he wants some corrective aids, first-time cheekpieces; that’s a worry.

ISOLATE IS LET OFF FOR EASY WIN

⭕ 2.30 Kempton Isolate could make up an Alan King double. He won over hurdles in October last year and followed up in November; turning to the big fences, he won here last month by eight lengths and a 5lb rise looks lenient.

Darebin, winner of this race two years ago, was back to winning form at Fontwell last month but has never put two strikes together before.

Fairway Freddie is unreliable but 10143 at Kempton. Generous Day goes with the pace and has won further than today’s trip. Court Royale is below the mark of his last two wins.

JERSEY WONDER IS A HOT POTATO

⭕ 3.00 Kempton Was it a fluke when Boreham Bill won the Lanzarote over the Kempton CD, as the 66-1 SP suggests? Emma Lavelle takes the blame for his modest strike rate before that day. She had not liked to run him on soft ground or going right-handed.

It was good ground here when he was third in today’s race on his way to the Lanzarote. He’s had a run back to prep for the same double bid but was the oldest winner of the Lanzarote since 1988, and faces young improvers in both.

Jersey Wonder, getting lumps of weight all round, might step up here. He drops back below 3m after winning back to back on top of the ground in the Spring.

Press Your Luck and Calva d’Auge both won back to back at this time last year. Calva d’Auge and Umndeni are the only previous winners at this level, barring that Lanzarote of Bill’s!

LILLY SUITED TO FLAT-TRACK FENCES

⭕ 3.30 Kempton Lean-and-hungry Lilly Pedlar (there’s nothing of her), third in the mares’ novices hurdle at Newbury, has a year-long career over fences on flat tracks ahead of her before she retires, says trainer Nicky Henderson.

Her hurdles form figures in the last 11 months (23231, still standing). Alpha Carinae goes well fresh and the yard is in form.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
