BIG JUMPS FESTIVALS STILL TO COME: What to take from Cheltenham? Which winners and losers can be followed at the big three Spring festivals of Aintree, Fairyhouse and Punchestown, and could be next year’s champions? To try to answer those questions, Daqman assembles his final Fortune Cookies Top 20 of the Jumps.

AND THE LINCOLN LAUNCHES THE FLAT: Look out in the rest of the week as Daqman announces his Flat-season betting plans, prepares his early birds to follow.. and, hopefully, finds you the Lincoln winner.

MAKE DOVER THE SOLE NAP

3.25 Lingfield What you want for this Stayers’ Handicap is a stayer and they seem to be in short supply.

On what form we know (and the field seems to be well exposed) you can trust only Akavit, Age Of Wisdom and Cliffs Of Dover to deliver over 2m.

Ed De Giles (Akavit) hasn’t trained a winner for 143 days and the horse itself hasn’t been seen for 229 days. Risky.

Age Of Wisdom won only a seller over today’s CD at Lingfield in January and, when he followed up at Kempton, beat a class-6 nine-year-old.

Cliffs Of Dover, winner of five in a row over hurdles in 2016, is rarely asked to perform in public these days but was recently pushed clear to score over today’s CD with a consistent sort in second. Was on offer at 1.8 for a supernap on BETDAQ this morning.

4.25 Lingfield Trainer William Knight, who – on 27% – this year has double his best strike rate of 2010 after a successful winter, brings back Silvestre De Sousa for Sea Shack.

The combo missed out over this Lingfield CD by a neck last Spring, racing in a grade higher handicap with 3lb more.
Sea Shack tried to make all that day and has secured the one stall this afternoon.

Sayesse is a worry, with Mick Channon’s yard still celebrating a Cheltenham winner, but gate 14 won’t help the CD winner of three weeks ago.

4.55 Lingfield Nicola Currie, who landed a double here on Friday, can make it a me-too day in more than one respect by following up Megan Nicholls (Cliffs Of Dover 3.25).

Nicola rides the lightly-raced, and topically named, Miniature Daffodil, as David Evans’ Monmouth stable gets into its stride in time for the start of the Flat turf season.

Solid Man is going for a three-timer today but the hat-trick in question is as beaten favourite.

Solid Man, Hackbridge and Dorian Gray are all now wearing ‘blinds’ of some description, and Ahfad a first-time tongue-tie. Desperation stakes, I think.
