SEE HOW THEY WON! YOUR TIPS: 2017 REVIEW: Daqman’s special features in the next three weeks begin today and tomorrow with ratified accounts of his success in this column in 2017. This is the consistency you can look forward to year on year.

SEE HOW THEY WON! YOUR STATS: 2018 RACES: Daqman complained last week that the Pricewise column was way off the mark in analysing Cheltenham ante-post. Next week he reveals where the festival winners come from, and at the end of the month lists his Fortune Cookies and the February races that matter.

BLUE MONDAY: It’s ‘Blue Monday’ but no need to be depressed. DAQMAN’s NAP is blue and has a great chance at Wolverhampton.

A VERY BLUE MONDAY AT WOLVERHAMPTON

Ayr and Plumpton are 469.08 miles apart according to my RAC route planner but they have one thing very much in common today. Bottomless ground at both venues.

In the circumstances the field sizes have held up quite well with just four non runners at both tracks at the time of writing.

There’s a fast-track qualifier at Wolverhampton which is head and shoulders the best race on the day they call Blue Monday – supposedly the most depressing day of the whole year but DAQMAN is forecasting a very happy AND BLUE Monday.

One bet from each course:

1.10 Ayr The opener is a riddle wrapped up in an enigma but I think I’ve spotted one. Irish raider Benefit North and Well Smitten are both on the comeback trail after failing to complete last time whilst Grand Morning was third in a modest race at Hexham on debut.

At bigger odds (7.6 at the time of writing) I thought Nando was interesting win and place. The German bred runner has gone off favourite in both bumper starts, so clearly has been showing something and although beaten on both occasions has shown a hint of ability. Trainer Nicky Richards is in better form and he could play a big part here on his hurdling debut in a race that won’t take a lot of winning.

It’s a WIN 20 bet for me on both BETDAQ WIN and PLACE markets.

3.40 Plumpton Jersey Bean is the top BETDAQ mover of the day and I’m not surprised. The favourite Brainstorm is proving hard to win with and Jersey Bean, an Ascot bumper winner, is still lightly raced and surely worth another chance here after unseating at the first at Fontwell last time.

6.40 Wolverhampton Frontiersman can put the blue into Blue Monday and is a NAP for the boys in blue. The Charlie Appleby trained runner is comfortably the best horse in the race on official ratings and can land this which will give him the golden entry ticket to All Weather Championships Finals Day on Good Friday at Lingfield.

The Appleby stable won it last year with Antiquarium and Frontiersman, a son of Dubawi is taken to relish the step up in trip.

He was certainly staying on to good effort when running his career best – a second to Highland Reel in the Coronation Cup at Epsom and has run creditable races since then including a Listed race win at Newmarket.

He does race on the all-weather for the first time (otherwise would have been SUPERNAP) but I don’t anticipate that causing any problems and he should outclass these.

DAQMAN’S BETS (all bets to win 20 points):
BET 3.0pts win and 16.6pts place NANDO (1.10 Ayr)
BET 8.0pts win JERSEY BEAN (3.40 Plumpton)
BET 11.5pts win (nap) FRONTIERSMAN (6.40 Wolverhampton)
