15-2 STRIKE AMONG THREE WINNING BETS IN THREE RACES: Give Daqman good racing and his tips will match it: yesterday he found a winning bet in three consecutive races out of three: Beaufort Twelve (WON 15-2), Primaeval (saver, WON 5-2) and Golan Way (lay, unplaced 11-4 favourite). Profit on the day: 25.20.

3.10 Goodwood: Stalls 4 and 6 won the races round the bend yesterday, and four horses drawn on the rail in this one are course winners.

In stalls order, Rougette (in 1) returns to the scene of her maiden success but has done nothing since; Piscean (3) has won only on AW since 2010; Bunce (4) has done all his winning on the soft; but Space Station (6) has his ground for the first time since September and is back to his last winning Goodwood mark.

Space Station, dropped two grades from his last run in the Victoria Cup, loves turning tracks – has also won at Epsom (twice) and Lingfield – and it was his jockey today, Seb Sanders, who won on him at Goodwood.

Konstantin also likes going round the bend, but has a bad record right-handed (no win, no place from five starts); with this run under his belt, he might be one for the Derby meeting next week.

Indian Art has been in top form on AW and, as a hold-up horse, the 10 draw may help not hinder him, but all depends on whether he can avoid traffic. I went win and place at 15.5 Space Station on BETDAQ.

3.45 Goodwood (Cocked Hat Stakes): This has to be my favourite Derby test, since it set up my 40-1 bet on the magnificent Troy, the greatest Blue Riband winner since Sea Bird. Rewilding’s Cocked Hat win put the race back among the trials elite.

John Gosden, who has saddled two of the last three winners, has two of the five contestants today: Michelangelo and Jungle Beat, both sons of Galileo.

Andrew Balding saddles Expense Claim even though it’s only six days since he won the London Gold Cup; a gelding, he is not eligible for the Derby, but will tell Balding what he needs to know about any potential opposition to Bonfire at Epsom.

Jungle Beat was a bit unlucky (hampered) in an earlier Newmarket Listed, and holds Perennial on that form, but William Buick seems to prefer Michelangelo.

The favourite won the Height Of Fashion fillies’ trial and it could well be Michelangelo, his Newmarket conqueror, Frankel’s brother Noble Mission, having been beaten by another Gosden, Thought Worthy, in a Listed last week.

4.55 Goodwood: The sprint at 4.20 is a lottery of losers, even worse not knowing at time of writing whether yesterday’s runner-up Noble Citizen would run. So I skipped to this 1m 4f contest.

Lady Rosamunde is in form and, though the grey has never won in this grade, is entitled to improve at age four; stepped up in trip, Figaro is potentially an even bigger improver, as so often happens with a Medicean.

He is well drawn to rail round in the van and, also low drawn, I like Kathleen Frances, a CD winner for Mark Tompkins, who was on the mark here yesterday with Astromagick: ‘Kathleen’ is 10.0 on BETDAQ, at time of writing.

5.30 Goodwood: Cantal and Forgive have winning form in the book but I worry about the firm surface on the round course for these daughters of soft-ground sire, Pivotal, and I’m intrigued by Amber Silk’s CV.

The Hills’ filly is by Lawman, who improved dramatically at three to win the French Derby. She has raced only at Goodwood on turf, did best first time out last season and tried to make all at Kempton on her final start of 2011. All in all, worth a tickle at 12.0 on BETDAQ this morning.

DAQMAN’S BETS
BET 1.3pts win and place SPACE STATION (3.10 Goodwood)
BET 5.8pts win FIGARO and 2.2pts win KATHLEEN FRANCES (4.55 Goodwood)
BET 1.8pts win and place AMBER SILK (5.30 Goodwood)
DAQ MULTIPLES: 10pts win on each and 5pts win double WATHEEQ (2.20 Haydock) and MICHELANGELO (nap, 3.45 Goodwood)

* Daqman’s selections are backed to win 20 points (unless otherwise stated or in Daq Multiples) so, if you divide 20 by his stake, you know the Betdaq offer taken for a win bet at the time of writing.
