60 POINTS PROFIT FROM DAQMAN SATURDAY FEAT: Wizard-of-odds Daqman had another super Saturday yesterday, with two jackpot winners – both 5-1 SP – and daring lays of hot favourites The Package and Pete The Feat. Here’s how he made 60 points profit:

NAP SECOND 16-1: The strange case of the nap that drifted from 17-2 but ran through beaten horses to place at a big price, Fill The Power (2nd 16-1). His naps sequence is now 22WWWW222.

PACKAGE UNDONE: Then he put the mockers on The Package, a 10-point lay, pulled up at 10-3 favourite.

LANZAROTE JACKPOT AT 5-1: He backed winner and fourth in the Lanzarote to jackpot stakes, Oscara Dara (WON 5-1) and Araldur (4th 14-1)

TAKING THE MICKIE: Next he had a win and place on Mickie (2nd 14-1), a fine effort at Warwick against hurdles find The New One.

ANOTHER 5-1 JACKPOT: Finally, he landed a double whammy in the stayers’ race there, again daring to lay the favourite, Pete The Feat (3rd 7-2), and backing the winner, Rigadin De Beauchene (WON 5-1).

I could get the Navan form backwards! It would still spell ‘Navan’, and there’s nowhere else to go for a touch of class this Sunday afternoon. As ever in England these days, after the salmon and champagne, there’s cold cod, and plans for spending my chips on a couple at Fakenham were thwarted after the meeting was called off following a second inspection.

Daryl Jacob flies up to Kelso for the one ride on dodgy jumper Fentara (1.20) but I can get a better price for a place than Fentara is for a win on the grey mare Rakavilee, impressive in her Points and a very good chance of being second at worst. The place will cover a speculative win bet at 5.8 on BETDAQ this morning.

Corrin Wood (1.50) looks the proverbial ‘good thing’ at the English meetings, easy Carlisle winner after running up to Cheltenham Festival hope, Gevrey Chambertin, beaten only a nose.

Alderwood (2.45) seems to be a similar banker at Navan, and I shall try my usual weekday Daq Multiples, which landed me five doubles and a treble last week. But there’s a cracking Grade-C chase in Ireland:

3.15 Navan (Foxrock Chase) Jim Dreaper’s Harpsy Cord seeks redemption for a final-fence fall when clear at Limerick, and Andrew Lynch takes over from an apprentice.
The form of Sumindasuprstar, who was third that day (holds Armaramak), and previously third at Fairyhouse (holds Slieveardagh), suggests that Harpsy Cord is solid but for his jumping under pressure.

Saoirse Dun also blotted his CV when he fell, trying for a four-timer at Cork, after chase successes, all at a lower level than today’s race.

Rich Revival has had very little racing, which suggests general fitness problems, and Tarquinius has to be claimed off again, after being hiked 10lb by the handicapper for back-to-back wins in four days at the turn of the year. May need another break now and this is better class.

Down in class is In Great Form (6.4 on BETDAQ this morning), ultra consistent until he tackled the Paddy Power Chase. Even so, well backed for that and not disgraced in fifth.

DAQMAN’S BETS
BET 4pts win and place RAKAVILEE (1.20 Kelso)
BET 6.6pts win HARPSY CORD and 3.7pts win IN GREAT FORM (3.15 Navan)
DAQ MULTIPLES: 2 x 3pt win trebles Corrin Wood (1.50 Kelso) and Alderwood (nap, 2.45 Navan) with Harpsy Cord and In Great Form (3.15 Navan)

* Daqman’s bets are staked to win 20 points (so you can work out the Betdaq offer he took by dividing 20 by the stake). This does not apply to Daq Multiples. Points are whatever your staking level: 5pts win with a fiver as your unit stake would be £25; at a tenner £50, and so on.
