12-1 WINNER PUSHES PROFITS TO 131 POINTS: Another big-odds winner (Twelve Strings WON 12-1) yesterday was enough to give Daqman his seventh winning day out of the last eight and take his Betdaq-value profit to 131 points in that time. Twelve Strings was selected at 16.5 morning offers.

WINNING LAY IS ‘ON THE HOUSE’: Daqman can also boast 11 winning lays out of the last 12. He named another one yesterday – Free House (unplaced 6-1) – but didn’t record it in his bets list at the end of the column.

All three jockeys’ title contenders are at Yarmouth today. The betting forecasters recommend Kieren Fallon for a treble to get back into the race. But the early-doors Betdaq market has one favourite each for Fallon and Paul Hanagan.

1.50 Yarmouth: Aniseed is the first of three Hanagan rides for William Haggas, a combination with a 45% strike rate. The grey filly looked interesting, the way she ran on in a big-field sales race.

You would have expected to see Fallon’s mount, Protect, in a handicap, after three educational runs, and both Kailani and Tempest Fugit make more appeal.

John Gosden (three wins and four placed) farms this race and Tempest Fugit (9.0) would have been a decent bet but for a high draw, right next door to Aniseed. Hanagan 6 points, Fallon 3.

2.20 Yarmouth: Fairly decent fillies in division two. Fallon on Wild Silk has last year’s winning stall but Sir Michael Stoute hasn’t had a winner for almost a month. Fallon 4.

2.50 Yarmouth: The Haggas-Hanagan combo’s Shatter drifted like a dog on a raft to 12.0 this morning, with Aljamaaheer shortened right up to 2.71, as I write.

Lady Macduff (7.8) looks the part and is bred for speed, and nine of Silvestre De Sousa’s last 17 winners have come from Mark Johnston mounts. He would be nowhere in the title hunt without this liaison. De Sousa 7, Hanagan 3.

3.20 Yarmouth: Fallon is the lone ranger here with Jack’s Revenge the only mount taken by the top three. Betdaq backers are impressed; they made him marginally odds on by 9.15 this morning, easing to evens by 10 o’clock.

He might well win but the day I bet at those odds in a seller, they can bury me on Boot Hill (self-inflicted). Fallon 7.

3.50 Yarmouth: They say Ashkan didn’t like the kickback at Wolver. Fallon didn’t like the horse. He’s put Ashkan in the dustbin and switched to Regal Gold.

He must be desperate. Though a winner first time in a handicap, they’ve blinkered Regal Gold today, so that only Fallon knows where the winning post is.

Great Mystery (De Sousa) is too anxious to get there; he’s pulled for his head, and needs to settle. Sabhan and Atlantis Crossing are the handicap debutants here but they haven’t shown much in maidens. So maybe Fallon wins by default; it’s a poor race. Fallon 5, Hanagan 3, De Sousa 3.

4.20 Yarmouth: I’m struggling to find a bet and the last three big-field class-6 handicaps appeal about as much as reading the 78-page whips review. A lose-lose situation.

Faith And Hope (Fallon) needs charity when you read her form; Mr Chocolate Drop (De Sousa) has won five of his seven races at the turn of the year; and General Tufto (Hanagan) prefers small fields at Southwell. Fallon, De Sousa and Hanagan rate 4 points each.

4.50 Yarmouth: Jibouti (De Sousa), who is a morning glory apparently, and Caramelita (Fallon) are both drawn high. Could this be a Curley one?

The great man’s Elusive Hawk (4.50) is a well-drawn course winner who goes well when fresh, and I snapped up a bit of 10.5 this morning. Fallon 4, De Sousa 2.

5.20 Yarmouth: The best you can say about Merito (Hanagan) is that he’s unexposed and blinkers might make a difference; Tenancy (De Sousa) wins in his turn but only on soft when he races on turf. Hanagan and De Sousa 3 each.
