FOUR NAPS IN A ROW WITH 3-1 HEART-STOPPER: Daqman made a breathtaking dash to a naps four-timer yesterday when top AW jock Adam Kirby took the initiative and stormed clear on Patriotic (WON 3-1), hanging on by just a whisker at the line.

BEST BETS NOW 44 POINTS UP FOR THE YEAR: With the favourite refusing to load, there was a 25% deduction at Wolverhampton, which we accept for accounting purposes, though Patriotic (4-1 SP from 11.0) was top market mover on the BETDAQ market movers page. Daqman’s naps profit for 2013 is, therefore, 44.63 points.

89 POINTS START IF YOU FOLLOWED DAQMAN: The naps tally brings his total profit to date this year to just over 89 points from successful starts to all his special bets: naps, lays, jackpots and horses to follow (check out his Library). Here are the last four naps:

Monday: PATRIOTIC (WON 4-1 SP, charged to the account as 3-1)

Sunday: HARRY TOPPER (WON 5-4) completes the hat-trick

Saturday: CHATTERBOX (WON 5-4) carries banker stakes

Friday: BROXBOURNE (WON 13-8) launches the four-timer

Yes, there could be a job horse at Ayr today. With form-figures on the track of 2221412, Yes Tom (4.30) warranted a dip into the orange at a value 12.5 on BETDAQ this morning.

Yes Tom reached for the sky as a novice, taking on Grand National horse, Killyglen, and running out of his depth in the Mildmay at Aintree, behind none other than Silviniaco Conti.

His trajectory was based almost entirely on his Ayr exploits, which included a chase success under Paddy Brennan, and a February win over hurdles on heavy ground. Before that, he beat Ballabriggs there.

Paddy Brennan, who has a 44% strike rate at Ayr, is a significant booking for Yes Tom whose principal rival seems to be another CD winner (twice) in Nuts N Bolts.

But Nuts N Bolts took advantage of a lenient mark on the course three weeks ago and is back up 8lb for his trouble. Stormin Exit, yet another dual CD winner, looks a stronger rival from the stable of Don McCain.

Rich Lord and Rossini’s Dancer are consistent – six places between them without winning in the last three months – but that’s what’s cost them high ratings, 11lb and 13lb respectively higher than they’ve won off.

Tony McCoy should easily open proceedings on Deepsand (1.50), five lengths off Hidden Justice at Catterick, whereas Welsh Bard was 25 lengths behind the same horse at Wetherby, with Hallmark Star in rear.

McCoy may be set for a double from the long trek to Ayr via Tap Night but they had to make excuses for him last time and, off a slow pace, he may have trouble with The Tracey Shuffle, a hurdles winner in Ireland in a bog like today’s.

Though he’s favourite, the hurdling ability of Swatow Typhoon (2.20) has to be taken on trust against Talkin Sence and Toplander, both already placed on Ayr heavy.

Milano Magic was only short-headed on the last day, but seven times out of nine in the frame without winning is not an appealing profile.

You’ve got to be Talkin Sence at 4.8 on BETDAQ, as winner of a handicap still qualified for novice events. Of course, we will have to have a saver on the bumper winner Swatow Typhoon, who ‘could be anything’ as they say.

Ballygarvey (2.00 Lingfield) is two from two on the course, hurdles and fences, both on heavy. He should bounce back after aiming too high at Cheltenham.

The rest of the card is dross, with the only live competition between Rydalis (3.35), bidding for a hat-trick for in-form Venetia Williams, and Itoldyou. Can you honestly bet whether the handicapper has it right at a difference of 17lb?

I shall have a wag’s wager at Southwell. Clive Brittain has his first runner of the year, 31.0 BETDAQ trade Red Aggressor (3.15), with the first three in the BETDAQ market all shorter for a win than Clive’s beast is for a place.

Tartan Jura (3.50) may be the only serious bet on the card, and can complete my treble with Deepsand and Ballygarvey.

I have doubled my stake to the maximum on one horse in my current naps sequence. Now I halve that as I try to continue the sequence with Deepsand, descriptive of the AW racing today but not of any wager I shall be having. Keep stakes low. There’s more and better to come.

DAQMAN’S BETS
BET 5.2pts win TALKIN SENCE and 3.2pts win (stakes saver) SWATOW TYPHOON (2.20 Ayr)
BET 0.6pts win and place RED AGGRESSOR (3.15 Southwell)
BET 3pts win STORMIN EXIT, and 1.7pts win and place YES TOM (4.30 Ayr)
DAQ MULTIPLES: 10pts win DEEPSAND (nap, 1.50 Ayr), plus 3 x 3pt win doubles and 1pt win treble with Ballygarvey (2.00 Lingfield) and Tartan Jura (3.50 Southwell).

Daqman’s selections are backed to win 20 points, so you know the offer he took (divide 20 by the stake). Daq Multiples are as stated. Saver bets are staked to cover the outlay on the main selection.
