8.0 ‘HIDDEN HORSE’ IS DAQMAN WINNER A DAY AS HE NAMES ONE-TWO: Another winner a day (11th day out of 12), another profit, and of course another example of value in the BETDAQ orange: that was Daqman ‘hidden horse’, Alfred Boucher, on the opening day of Ascot yesterday.

✔️ WON 11-2 ALFRED BOUCHER from 8.0 on BETDAQ
(2nd 11-4 GRAND BAZAAR same race)

RAIN THE SPOILER SO FINGERS CROSSED FOR MORE BETDAQ OUTSIDERS: It’s King George day and last Saturday Daqman landed bull’s-eye bets at 40-1 and 13-2 plus a Fortune Cookie and Supernap. So how about it again today Daqman? ‘All depends on the ground and if the going matches the preferred conditions of my selection, or the other way round!’ At Ascot this morning: rain; forecast, rain! So 10.0 and 27.0 outsiders just for the craic.

RIFFS FOR SINGING IN THE RAIN

⭕ 3.35 Ascot (King George V1 and Queen Elizabeth Stakes)

STATS: see Wednesday.

ASCOT RECORDS: Team Gosden 19%, Aidan O’Brien 14%, Charlie Appleby 14%, Martyn Meade 9%, David Menuisier 8%.

GROUP-1 WINNERS (8/10): Love (4), Mishriff (2), Wonderful Tonight (2), Adayar and Broome (1 each).

POSITIVES: The rain is good news for Wonderful Tonight, but a decision about her participation will not be taken until 2.30. Like her connections, we need to look closely at the earlier races to help us with the ground.

Fillies and mares (Love and Wonderful Tonight) are 5/9 in seven of the last 10 years. These two are the only course winners but have each raced only once this season (16/19 winners ran two or more times), and the race is generally one of weighing up the negatives.

NEGATIVES: Three-year-olds can be expected to improve but have a poor record in this: older horses have won 15/19 since Galileo in 2001, and no Derby winner like Adayar has scored since.

1: MISHRIFF Landed a hat-trick last summer and won the Sheema Classic and Saudi Cup this year on fast ground. Below par in the Eclipse but now back to 1m 4f.

What a day for David Egan if he can take this from under the nose of Frankie Dettori on Lone Eagle!

Just for the craic at around 10-1. The alternative is pinsticking one of three short prices or waiting on Wonderful Tonight.

2: ADAYAR The Epsom form has been franked by Hurricane Lane (who won the Irish version from Lone Eagle) but Adayar has to improve again to break the hoodoo on three-year-olds.

3: WONDERFUL TONIGHT She prefers heavy ground and beat Broome at Royal Ascot on the soft. She deserves third spot but the weather is the telling factor.

4: LOVE Unbeaten last year but only one run this and she has not faced Classic colts. Her Royal Ascot win was against non-stayers, and from her last year’s Oaks the second and third have been beaten in eight subsequent races without winning.

5: LONE EAGLE Ran Hurricane Lane to a neck in the Irish Derby but that puts him behind Adayar. Lone Eagle is a Group-1 maiden. He has not won over 1m 4f (17/19 King George winners had done so).

6: BROOME Likely pacemaker and could hang on in there but is giving away the years to the rest of the field. Only six five-year-olds have won since 1969.

BETDAQ value 10.0 Mishriff

SYSTEM NAP FOR IN-FORM HANNON

⭕ 1.50 Ascot (Keeneland Stakes) Both System (slow start) and Desert Dreamer (hampered final furlong), one-two on the July Course in June, had their troubles in that race.

Desert Dreamer went on to be second to the unbeaten Sandrine, which boosts the form of the June race but which of that one-two will come out on top?

The answer should be the least exposed, System, and trainer Richard Hannon is having a good run.

BETDAQ value 5.1 System

⭕ 2.40 York (Dash) Gulliver’s York form is 31020110, including the Coral Sprint last October but that York strike – and the one before that – depended on soft ground, and the North supposedly stays dry today. Blind Beggar also wins with cut.

Gulliver’s David O’Meara stablemate, Muscika, is claimed off to try to maintain his dominance over Golden Apollo, whom he beat threeparts of a length. The Apollo is also down from 91 to 88 today.

They were second and fourth the year before when the soft ground didn’t suit Golden Apollo, who might just edge this one; always finishes well.

Music Society has been beaten on all four starts here but Mondammmej, who has raced mainly over 5f, is 122 over six, and Lahore is least exposed.

BETDAQ value 10.0 Golden Apollo, 13.0 Lahore, 15.5 Muscika.

IS 27.0 CLIFFS ANOTHER JAMIE PLOT?

⭕ 3.00 Ascot (7f handicap) Big fields doing the splits tend to favour the high draw: stalls 14 to 24 seven out of 10.

Danyah, second in the Buckingham Palace Stakes, is one of those I marked down for Royal Ascot places which turn out to be lays.

In fact, the fourth horse, Lord Rapscallion, has form with today’s favourite, Motakhayyel, who gave him 16lb and a near-five lengths beating in the Bunbury Cup.

Aldaary, favourite for the Buckingham Palace, didn’t get a great start and was fifth, but three-year-olds don’t win this, and he’s coming out of gate 2.

Matthew Flinders fans have followed him to four consecutive defeats at SPs from 7-2 to 7-1 since his gelding op raised their hopes.. and in the process raised his handicap mark 11lb! Acquitted is also up the handicap for four defeats.

Star Of Orion ran a stinker in the Britannia and had to drop to class 3 to win. Dance Fever has very similar form and, like Star Of Orion, has picked up a penalty for his redemption win.

Cliffs Of Capri is well handicapped now with horses that have beaten him at Ascot and is the same age as Jamie Osborne’s Raising Sand who landed this for him in 2019 from the exact same stall 21.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 6.1 Motakhayyel, 27 Cliffs Of Capri

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
