LINCOLN DOUBLE LAUNCHES THE FLAT: Flat turf racing starts today with the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster and the Irish Lincolnshire at The Curragh.

GARRUS FOR HILLS DOUBLE

⭕ 1.15 Doncaster (Brocklesby Stakes) STATS: TRAINERS: Bill Turner 5, Mark Johnston 2. JOCKEYS: Charles Bishop 2, Silvestre De Sousa 1. STALLS 2 and 3 together have won 4-8. BREEDING: Beach Breeze, Blatant, Evolicatt, I Still Have Faith, KnowhatImeanharry, Mascapone and Persian Force are all related to Group performers.

⭕ 1.50 Doncaster (Cammidge Trophy) Charles Hills, who won this last year, goes for a double with Garrus, a Group-3 winner at Deauville in August.

RATINGS: Garrus 110, Diligent Harry 109, Bielsa 105, Mondammej 102, Volatile Analyst and Justanotherbottle 101; Mo Celita 97 (gets 5lb allowance as a filly).

⭕ 2.25 Doncaster (Spring Mile) AGE: Four-year-olds 7-9. No outright favourite has won this in the decade but the race has cut up badly this year, and is being run despite a ‘10 runners, no fewer’ rule. There are nine.

In fact, Empirestateofmind has been acey-deucey as favourite: market leader the last five times he’s run, returning 11212.

He’s up a total of 21lb for that sequence but is key to the Lincoln Handicap, run in 70 minutes’ time, in that he was easily beaten at Redcar in October by Mujtaba.

⭕ 3.00 Doncaster Mile Roger Varian has won this three times in four seasons; Richard Hannon and William Haggas one each.

RATINGS: 112 Chindit, 104 Boosala, 100 each Royal Champion and Tempus. I’ll try Royal Champion; Roger and out!

SALEYMM LINCOLN IMPROVER

⚠️ HEADS UP: Lincoln favourite during the week, Mujtaba has lost the claim of apprentice Adam Farragher. He has been denied the chance of riding for the £100,000 prize by an ankle injury on the gallops.

Cieren Fallon takes over but Daqman switches to stablemate Ametist. Another 7lb claimer, Harry Davies, on Modern News now joins Mujtaba at the head of the market.

⭕ 3.35 Doncaster (Lincoln Handicap) STATS: ABC guide Friday’s Archive. Daqman’s verdict by stall groups and the pace of the race.

HIGH STALLS (5 wins): Rogue Bear

Rogue Bear (out of stall 19) has raced only five times (won two) and is up in class today but is a winner at Doncaster; a strong traveler who is unexposed.

The Lincoln trial has not been helpful and, though from an early-bird stable, Notre Belle Bete (21) carries a penalty.

Fame And Acclaim (22) has needed several runs before showing his form, as do most of Les Eyres horses.

MIDDLE DRAW (5 wins): Ametist

Lightly-raced Ametist (13) is a 7f specialist but showed in the Cambridgeshire that he could stay a fast-run mile.

Brunch (14) was a strong runner-up last term and another 7f scorer, Modern News (8), should enjoy the step up in trip.

LOW NUMBERS (3 wins): Saleymm

The Dubawis, Mujtaba (2) and Saleymm (3), are both likely improvers, while Teodolina and her trainer both do well at the start of the season.

DAQMAN’S 1-2-3-4: 1 Ametist, 2 Saleymm, 3 Rogue Bear, 4 Mujtaba.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 8.8 Saleymm, 13.0 Ametist, 20 Rogue Bear.

ODDS-ON DOWN TO EARTH

⭕ 3.41 The Curragh (Park Express Stakes) AGE: 3yo 4, 4yo 4, 5yo 2. TRAINERS: Jim Bolger 3, Dermot Weld 2.

🤔 LAYS LOGIC: Only one outright favourite has won this, and that was in the very first running of the race in 2003.

The 1,000 Guineas winner Mother Earth had a 10-race season last year from May to December. As for her trainer, he used to start by winning everything but his season can falter for some time.

This Park Express is not on the list of O’Brien tick-boxes. He’s won it only once in its entire history.

⭕ 4.16 The Curragh (Irish Lincolnshire) STATS: Low stalls 1-to-5 have a 70% strike rate. TRAINER: Ger Lyons. Jockey; Gary Carroll.

Gary Carroll’s form on Yafordadoe is 12221; he travels well with the pace from a mile to a mile and a half, and will be finishing well.

Out of stall 9, he should get a lead from Agitare. Who made all at Naas (1m) in October and is in the plum stall 3.

But right behind him, and now better off at the weights, was Laelaps (out of stall 2 today). Cheekpieces could put True Artist back in the frame.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
