NINE OUT OF 10 NAPS: 167-POINTS: Daqman read it right yet again! While the Press lined up with epitaphs for Stradivarius yesterday, Daqman dared to say the horse was ‘gifted’ the race and, sure enough, it played out that way as he became the first three-time winner of the Yorkshire Cup and Daqman’s ninth winning nap out of the last 10 for 167 points profit!

WON 6-4 STRADIVARIUS (Friday, nap)
WON 11-10 AHORSEWITHNONAME (Thursday, nap)
WON 6-4 DILIGENT (Wednesday, nap,BETDAQ 3.3)
WON 8-11 APPIER (Tuesday, nap)
WON 11-8 FRAGRANCE (Monday, 20-point supernap)
WON 10-11 STONE AGE (Sunday, nap, BETDAQ 2.5)
WON 4-1 SOLID STONE (Friday, nap)
WON 6-4 STAR OF INDIA (Thursday, nap)
WON 11-8 EVER GIVEN (Wednesday nap, BETDAQ 4.0)

TWO SPECIALS BUT CAN ONLY NAP ONE: On a tricky day, Daqman’s nap is at 4.3 and his next best 5.3, both backed to win 20 points. That’s BETDAQ value but a headache for the tipster, who could have napped the bigger offer, which he’s told is a ‘special one.’

WHY I’M GOING WITH THE FLOW

⚠️ HEADS UP Today is all about whether unbeaten Baaeed can pick up where he left off as champion miler. But the race has that ‘told you so’ look of a perennial odds-on shot whereas three of the last four London Gold Cup winners have also established themselves as sequence scorers, so we could find a Fortune Cookie here.

⭕ 1.35 Newbury Held by just a head in the Mill Reef Stakes over this course and distance, Hierarchy beat Ehraz when they were second and third in the Commonwealth Cup Trial, won by Go Bears Go.

Seems solid but there’s been very little market support for him since the days he won races as a novice.

Ehraz is dropping a grade to Listed company here, but Richard Hannon has had one winner from the stable’s last 36 starters, two of them favourites out of the frame, so it’s hard to get excited.

Aidan O’Brien’s Cadamosto is an outsider for the Kings Stand Stakes in early markets but he hasn’t lived up to the promise of his Norfolk Stakes fourth. He was nearly six lengths behind Go Bears Go at The Curragh last summer.

Tiber Flow has to translate progressive AW form to turf. He’s bred to get further and the stable is in form. Three in a row until raised to class-2 level; this is a step up again but he’s the only one supported this morning. BETDAQ 3.5.

SPECIALE COULD BE SPECIAL ONE

⭕ 2.25 Newmarket Beating nothing well, Lir Speciale was impressive in his maiden, heavily supported in the market, and in this handicap debut he gets weight from eight of his nine opponents, all exposed, with Haymaker the odd one out and likely danger. I’ve been warned that Speciale could be special. Work to do from the one stall.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 5.3 Lir Speciale

ISRAR BACKED BY GOSDEN FORM

⭕ 2.45 Newbury (London Gold Cup) Not a Gosden race and no more than once before in the decade a race for Israr’s kind of weight.

But, after Emily Upjohn and Stradivarius this week, the stable could not be on a bigger high, and the guv’nor knows all about Israr. He trained the dam, Taghrooda, to win the Oaks and King George.

Any one of the dozen or so in this three-year-old handicap could take a step forward, with only one of the last nine winners having previously won above class 4. The market thinks it might be Sandown winner, Red Vineyard, well backed overnight.

BETDAQ value 5.0 Israr

MAKE IT SALEYMM ALL THE WAY

⭕ 3.00 Newmarket Britannia Stakes third Quintillus is quirky but could figure here if James Doyle can ‘bury’ him.

After 14 straight defeats, Shine So Bright won for a first-time hood under the 7lb claimer Harry Davies here last month. Again has Wizard D’Amour to lead the low draw but, better off at the weights, Wizard is looking more dangerous here.

I prefer Saleymm, who was cooked for the Lincoln and ran second, but was off the boil in the Newbury Spring Cup.

Dropping back in trip and forcing the pace again, as he did at Doncaster, could be the answer down the stands side.

Bullace scored here first time out last season and a gelding op might renew his interest, but Ralph Beckett has dropped right out of form (1-28).

BETDAQ value 4.5 Saleymm

BAAEED COMES DOWN TO EARTH?

⭕ 3.20 Newbury (Lockinge Stakes) Team Gosden won this last year with odds-on Palace Pier, who went on to back-to-back Group-1 success in the Queen Anne and the Jacques Le Marois.

But he was beaten a neck, trying to give 3lb to the year younger Baaeed in the British Champions Mile (good to soft), and here’s Baaeed, himself odds-on to strut his stuff, rated 7lb clear of his field today.

He climbed a stone and a half in the ratings with a six hit, unbeaten last summer and autumn, winning the Moulin before pipping Palace Pier.

Real World climbed more than that, 24lb, with five in a row as a four-year-old late developer, landing a Listed here at Newbury and a Group 3 at York, both on a sound surface.

Mother Earth won the 1,000 Guineas and scored twice more against her own sex, though was beaten favourite in the British Champions’ Fillies And Mares. Given too much to do behind Baaeed in the QE11 at Ascot.

Chindit was short of the best as a three-year-old and isn’t quite the material of previous Richard Hannon strikes in this race, among them 40-1 Guineas winner, Night Of Thunder.

Back to where I came in and Team Gosden tries to win it with Sunray Major, fifth (Alcohol Free third) in the Sandown Mile. The value in the race is the each-way.

BETDAQ value 15.0 Mother Earth

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU..

⭕ 6.35 Doncaster Alice Haynes’ thriving yard at the foot of Warren Hill has produced 40 winners in its first 15 months; she is 3-5 at Doncaster, where Definitive Force can score again. Around 5.0.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
