SUPER DAQMAN LANDS 80-POINT NAPS DOUBLE: Daqman made 80 points profit in two days from back-to-back best bets when his gambled on supernap Honeysuckle (WON 6-4) scored by six lengths, his sole Saturday selection at Fairyhouse, following a 50-point bull’s-eye nap at Doncaster on Friday.

WON 6-4 HONEYSUCKLE (supernap Saturday)
WON 9-2 CRACKING FIND (Friday bull’s-eye nap to win 50)

FIVE RETURNS SO HE’S 20-11 UP ON PRICEWISE: Daqman had four winners among five Saturday returns, detailed below, which took him into a 20-11 lead over Pricewise of the Racing Post, with the results sure to make changes to his Fortune Cookies, which followed up Presenting Percy (WON 9-4 Thursday) with Frodon (WON 9-4) in one of the Cheltenham trials.

SUPERNAPS IN ENGLAND AND IRELAND TODAY: Today Daqman tries supernap strength in both England and Ireland, a 20-pointer at both Naas and Fontwell

SHE’S NEW MARES FAVOURITE

It was a taste of honey! That’s what started it, as Daqman defied Willie Mullins himself at Fairyhouse, knocking his mare Robin De Carlow, which Willie tipped in the Racing Post to win the Solerina Mares Hurdle.

Daqman begged to differ and so did the punters who swarmed like bees to the honeypot and made Honeysuckle 6-4 favourite. She won six lengths and is new favourite for the mares’ novices at Cheltenham.

To those who now insist that Robin De Carlow was below par, read Daqman’s verdict again, as he fitted together the form jigsaw piece by piece.

How will this affect his horses to follow, the famous Fortune Cookies, which scored again through Frodon at Cheltenham? Don’t miss Daqman’s revisions tomorrow. Here are yesterday’s winning bets:

WON 6-4 HONEYSUCKLE (supernap, Solerina Hurdle)
WON (3rd 7-1) BALLYHILL (w/p BETDAQ 9.0)
WON 9-4 FRODON (ELEGANT ESCAPE 2nd for 6-1 SF)
WON (3rd 10-1) CALIPTO (w/p BETDAQ 15.5)
WON 100-30 PAISLEY PARK (Cleeve Hurdle, BETDAQ 5.3)

ESPOIR A SUPERNAP, I HOPE

1.20 Naas Rachael Blackmore, who rode Honeysuckle, is here on board the Gigginstown gelding Star Max for Joseph O’Brien, who is back in form with three winners in two days. Looks big at 16.0 on BETDAQ.

1.50 Naas (Limestone Lad Hurdle) This race enjoyed a super winners sequence (2012-14) of Mikael d’Haguenet, Solwhit and Rule The World.

Gavin Cromwell’s Espoir d’Allen is improving all the time and could be an able Champion Hurdle deputy for J P McManus and his holder of the trophy, Buveur d’Air.

In fact, it would appear that, if the five-year-old can give 7lb to the likes of Wicklow Brave and Tombstone in this one, there’ll be more than mere ‘espoir’ about his Cheltenham chances and his 17lb rating behind Buveur d’Air will be whittled down.

But note that Tombstone has only ever won two hurdles races (2-14) and it’s nearly two years since the last one. And Wicklow Brave has scored only once over the sticks since his Punchestown Champion Hurdle of April, 2017.

So it is that four-time Graded winner Espoir d’Allen deserves to be a hot favourite: 10 wins you seven on BETDAQ, as I write.

2.20 Naas This novice chase is trappy but must be watched with an eye to the future so, with Noel Meade’s form in the race 11P10121, let’s have a pound or a euro on the very lightly raced Rathnure Rebel (BETDAQ 70.0).

GO MAXIMUM ON URBANIST

3.40 Sedgefield Tim Vaughan is up from Welsh Wales with three runners here today, including Kovera (5.2 BETDAQ).

Kovera was favourite to land a hat-trick when pulling up after a bad knock nat Wincanton. Given a break and nicely placed here, getting a stone from all bar the 12-year-olds, who are giving him five years!

4.00 Fontwell Dr Richard Newland is high on the list – if not top – for placing his horses, and he’s caught the handicapper flat-footed here running Urbanist off the same mark as when winning a chase a week ago.

Connections’ high regard for this horse can be gauged by his having been favourite no fewer than seven times in nine starts, in which he has never been out of the first four and won two.
