DAQMAN LANDS 8-1 BIG-RACE WIN: After missing out on Friday following seven consecutive winning days, Daqman was back in front yesterday with 21.75 points profit on the day, thank to a 50-point strike at Haydock in the Tommy Whittle Chase:

WON 8-1 ENQARDE (bull’s-eye bet from BETDAQ 10.0)

FORTUNE COOKIES FOR CHRISTMAS: What impressed (or didn’t) this weekend; what could insert into tomorrow’s Fortune Cookies? See How They Ran today. Daqman’s Christmas preview for Boxing Day and beyond continues on Tuesday and Wednesday.

SEE-HOW-THEY-RAN WRAP

⚠️ HEADS UP For the second week running, Daqman presents See How They Ran, a weekend wrap in which he marks your card about horses to put in the notebook, for good reasons or Lays Logic.

Most impressive winner. It has to be Jonbon, who’d had Nicky Henderson worrying about the little things (always a sure sign). He answered all doubts with a polished display at Ascot on Friday.

The race was slow-run though the opposition seemed strong but, at several times in the race, he looked capable of finding another gear and taking over the contest as one who is a class above. From two out, he did just that.

Faster than most. Though Tom Lacey’s Adrimel won 15 lengths and 43 lengths, and only the three finished, he put up a fastish time for the 2m novices chase on the soft at Haydock yesterday.

As a 2m 5f hurdle winner, related on the dam’s side to Welsh National hero, Halcon Genelardais, his performance over the minimum (blinkered first time) was remarkable.

Tritonic won the Grade-3 handicap hurdle at Ascot in a decent time and he can win again but I shall not desert the third horse home, Garry Clermont, who kept on well and has already won over further.

Don’t write her off. My napping Makkari at Kempton on Friday was asking a lot on her debut and from a wide draw in the extreme stall 11.

Charlie Appleby’s filly walked out of the gate, which didn’t help, and ran green when asked to improve her position. This daughter of Galileo out of a Dubawi mare will be winning soon.

Fortune Cookies tomorrow This week’s question is whether to introduce Pic D’Orhy into the Fortune Cookies list? His jumping improved at Ascot and he was a confident favourite.

NO CONCERNS FOR CONCEROE

⭕ 1.20 Fakenham It’s not the most competitive card at Fakenham on Sunday but there looks to be a solid bet on the card with Conceroe in the maiden hurdle.

It’s the paucity of opposition that’s probably the biggest factor in his favour but a simple reproduction of his latest effort at Kelso when third to Kavanaghs Cross should easily prove good enough. It was his first run over hurdles after showing good bumper form (winner at Warwick, contested Listed races) and with the Ben Case yard in good form (2 winners from last 7) you can see why Conceroe appeals as the nap of the day.

Nicky Henderson provides the main danger judged by the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE market in the form of Commodore Miller who was very disappointing on his bumper debut at Market Rasen but his second effort when fourth at Sandown was much more encouraging.

He will need to improve again but that can’t be ruled out and he is preferred to Hazard Collonges whose Market Rasen third only looks modest form.

GOOD SHOUT FOR DUKE

⭕ 3.20 Fakenham Even with three non runners they’ve saved the most competitive race to last with this handicap hurdle.

Vocal Duke proved his love for this quirky circuit when winning by six lengths back in October. He might well go in again today, despite now being 5lb higher in the handicap. He hasn’t been disgraced in two starts since and the handicapper is nudging him back down the weights.

The obvious danger is Al Kherb who was bought out of a seller that he won in October at Stratford and has now moved stables.

ENDING DAY IN PARADISE

⭕ 3.30 Kempton There was plenty to like about Charming Paradise’s latest effort over course and distance when he chased home Fitzrovia. The winner rubber-stamped the form with another course win next time out.

He seems improved since wind surgery and remains lightly raced.

Plenty of these look firmly in the grip of the handicapper including Roby Mill and Laurentia but at bigger prices one that could go well is Red Bravo who might be freshened up for the change of stable.

DAQMAN’S BETS (each staked to win 10 points)
BET 11.0pts win (nap) CONCEROE (1.20 Fakenham)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
