HUGE BETDAQ OFFERS IN CHANTILLY COCKTAIL OF A DERBY: After runaway wins in the Derby and the Oaks at Epsom, the French Derby at Chantilly today is likely to finish in a heap with the good French colts badly drawn and needing a finishing attack and the hot English and Irish raiders, proved only at a mile, needing to hang on in there! It could be a Drama day in more ways than one. BETDAQ offers are huge.

TAKE 13.5 THE SOLE JOHNSTON RAIDER ON GOODWOOD: At Goodwood, there’s another Derby in focus: Daqman naps a horse that must win its Pitman’s Derby trial and finds 13.5 offers about a Mark Johnston solo raider from the one stall.

TOP MARKS IN FRENCH DERBY DRAMA

⭕ 3.00 Chantilly (Prix du Jockey Club)

▪️ LEADING TRAINERS: Pascal Bary 6, Andre Fabre 4, Jean-Claude Rouget 4.
▪️ JOCKEYS: Christophe Soumillon 3, Ioritz Mendizabal 2.
▪️ WINNERS BY STALL (last 10 years): 10, 16, 10, 6, 13, 7, 1, 6, 5, 3. GOING: very soft.

Don’t forget that the Prix du Jockey Club is not the Derby distance of Epsom or the Curragh but just 10 furlongs of the Chantilly track, and no reason why Aidan O’Brien can’t finally crack it.

St Mark’s Basilica has already taken the first colts’ Classic in Paris, the 2,000 Guineas, and Van Gogh was third in the Irish version.

O’Brien again uses Ioritz Mendizabal, who rode St Mark’s Basilica to his Guineas victory and won this Derby last year on Mishriff for John Gosden.

Gosden puts up Olivier Peslier on Megallan, Dante runner-up at less than a length to Hurricane Lane with the likely Irish Derby favourite, High Definition, in third.

On a line through Maximal, Roger Varian’s Dee Stakes winner El Drama is right there next to Megallan, and he has a better chance on the very soft ground than Megallan.

Makaloun (Group-3 Prix de Guiche), Baby Rider (Group-2 Greffulhe) and Cheshire Academy (Group-3 Noailles) are the pick of the French.

Makaloun has five wins out of six (from good to heavy), but was beaten in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud by Gear Up, who did nothing for the form at Epsom yesterday.

Makaloun, Megallan and Cheshire Academy have particularly wide draws but Makaloun likes to be up there from the start and so is likely to get across early.

1 St Mark’s Basilica is by Siyouni, sire of Sottsass, world champion three-year-old of 2020 and winner of the Arc. No reason why he shouldn’t stay the trip and is well drawn in 2.

2 El Drama There is a double French connection in his pedigree: he is by a French Derby star (Lope De Vega) out of a mare by another French Derby winner and Arc hero, Peintre Celebre.

3 Makaloun 4 Baby Rider, 5 Megallan, 6 Van Gogh, 7 Pretty Tiger.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 3.5 St Mark’s Basilica, 10.0 Van Gogh, 11.0 Megallan, 12 Makaloun and Pretty Tiger, 13.0 El Drama, 19.0 Baby Rider

EAST ASIA MUST WIN TODAY’S TRIAL

⭕ 1.45 Goodwood Mark Johnston’s string is in better form now and Goodwood is his favourite target for a raid.

Mark runs only Eton College from the one stall under Ben Curtis, who has already ridden him a winner this month.

Stalls 1 and 2 have landed five winners out of six in this race. Pistoletto (2), an Aidan O’Brien cast-off, hasn’t won for more than two years and never beyond 5f.

BETDAQ value 13.5 Eton College

⭕ 3.30 Goodwood Fresh from a 103-1 double at Epsom yesterday, Ian Williams saddles East Asia, who completed his Spring double here at Goodwood, first time ridden by William Buick who takes the ride again today.

East Asia’s target is the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle at the end of the month and he needs this to get into the race. Around 2-1 this morning.

KENNELLA CAN LAND SANDRINGHAM

⭕ 2.15 Chantilly (Prix Sandringham) Kevin Ryan runs the gauntlet of the restrictions to give Bellissime her chance in this Group-2 mile, after posting a paddocks-enhancing Listed place at Newmarket.

It’s a test of the quality of the Classic fillies on both sides of the Channel, with the French 1,000 Guineas pair, Kennella (third) and See The Rose (fifth) in the line-up.

The link is that Mother Earth, the Newmarket Guineas winner, was runner-up in that Guineas at Longchamp that day.

That said, the favourite today is likely to be mile hat-trick-winning filly Tahlie for Pascal Bary and Christophe Soumillon. Good race; I took BETDAQ Sportsbook 3.0 Kenella.

⭕ 4.50 Chantilly (Prix du Gros-Chene) Karl Burke appropriately travels Abbaye fourth Lady In France over to Chantilly for this 5f Group 2 after her Temple Stakes third at Haydock.

The Prix de Saint Georges one-two at Longchamp in May, Ideal Beauty and Berneil are set to dead-heat under the conditions of the race.

BETDAQ value 6.0 Lady In France

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
