DAQMAN’S CHASING HUGE PROFITS AT UTTOXETER: There’s a real mixed bag today of Group racing in France, a steeplechase trophy in England at Uttoxeter and the launch of more big Ballydoyle potential in a two-year-old race at The Curragh. Daqman leads Pricewise 41-16, with a 126-point gap in profits between them (Daqman + 65, Pricewise -61 to a single-unit level stake) as they face off in the Uttoxeter race, with Daqman’s bull’s-eye bets at 16.5 and 18.5 BETDAQ offers.

TOMORROW: THREE-YEAR-OLD BIG-RACE RATINGS: With Saturday’s Eclipse, the King George and the Arc in mind, which are the best of the three-year-olds, now that we’ve seen all the Guineas and Derbys?

MOORE MOUNT TO BE NEW EAGLE

1.45 The Curragh Gleneagles won this and, more recently, Gustav Klimt, among six out of 10 in the decade for Aidan O’Brien, whose lads gazumped him in yesterday’s Irish Derby.

Donnacha, rider of brother Joseph’s Latrobe, is now on dad’s side, as he partners another potential star for the O’Brien dynasty, Anthony Van Dyke, bred like an Aussie speedball.

But expected to be at his peak first time is stablemate Mount Everest (Ryan Moore), a Galileo related to Alpha Centauri, the Coronation Stakes record-breaker. Mount Everest was 3.4 this morning, Anthony Van Dyke 9.8.

CORONET THE STABLE GODSEND

2.45 Saint-Cloud (Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud) Novellist won the King George after taking this race in 2013, and now Coronet tries to book her place in the Ascot accolade.

At first she looked no more than an interesting deputy dawg for her illustrious John Gosden stablemate Enable, but word is now coming out of the yard that she could be this year’s star in her own right, particularly in a moderate year for the three-year-olds.

Waldgeist is back to form, winning the Grand Prix De Chantilly, and on a hat-trick today, also bidding to become Andre Fabre’s third winner of this race in the decade.

Arc runner-up Cloth Of Stars was well behind Waldgeist at Chantilly and looks a long-term nearly horse.

Bateel finished in front of Coronet when they were second and third to Hydrangea in the British Champions Fillies and Mares at Ascot in October.

But John Gosden is confident that Coronet has improved quite dramatically over the winter. The 4.4 Coronet is made for us by Waldgeist’s being favourite.

BETDAQ VALUE IS RELENTLESS!

4.20 Uttoxeter (Summer Cup) Young lightweights usually win this fast-ground chase. Three in a row for seven-year-olds; only one double-figure age; four out of six set to carry 10st 9lb or less.

No winning favourites, despite success going to the usual suspects: Rebecca Curtis, Harry Fry, Charlie Longsdon, Jonjo O’Neill and Colin Tizzard.

Rebecca Curtis now has Relentless Dreamer, who has been seen in much better company than this, and has won twice after a break: 16.5 on BETDAQ looks too big.

Good ground is the key to Good Man Vinnie, who scored over the Uttoxeter CD but is up 16lb for back-to-back wins in the
Spring.

Would you rather that or Drumlee Sunset, who is just 3lb higher than when starting his steeplechase career in November, 2016.

Bugsie Malone is another with static ratings despite scoring twice at Kempton in the Spring. Winter Lion is similar: the handicapper has now rated him to run a dead-heat with Virgilio after their one-two at Aintree in May.

Jonjo O’Neill (6-13 still standing) is in tremendous form and one of his pair, Another Hero and Easy Street, both capable on their day but both in and out, could be on the premises at 18.5 and 47.0 on BETDAQ respectively.

FOREVER LOOKS PRETTY SHORT

4.40 The Curragh (Pretty Polly Stakes) Runaway Oaks winner Forever Together looks the banker of the day, with Bye Bye Baby, the second favourite this morning, needing to make up eight lengths on her stablemate on Epsom form.

But, with the dramatic change in the ground and her short price, even on BETDAQ (1.54 as I write), I’m happy to let her run for the Fortune Cookies; no serious on-the-day bet.
