ROYAL ASCOT COUNTDOWN TO GREAT VALUE: If you’re still not convinced about BETDAQ value, simply check out the BETDAQ offers for two big races at Royal Ascot alongside the average available from bookmakers: see below, as Daqman continues his stats and facts previews.

ASCOT: BIG BETDAQ DIFFERENCE

4.20 Ascot Gold Cup (Royal Ascot, next Thursday): If you think there’ll be an upset in the Gold Cup, don’t hang around the bookies. BETDAQ has the better offers beyond the first two favourites.

While the odds about Order Of St George and Stradivarius are on a par with the fixed-odds layers, the markets then start to open up a gap. This was what I spotted at the time of writing:

11-2 Vazirabad 8.8 BETDAQ
9-1 Torcedor 11.0 BETDAQ
12-1 Idaho 17.0 BETDAQ
14-1 Desert Skyline 15.0 BETDAQ
25-1 Thomas Hobson 28.0 BETDAQ
25-1 Max Dynamite 45.0 BETDAQ
25-1 Sheikhzayedroad 43.0 BETDAQ
28-1 Call To Mind 50.0 BETDAQ

Since Yeats dominated the race (four Gold Cups in a row), it’s been ‘even Stephen’ between favourites and outsiders, with winners at 10-11 (twice), 11-8 and 7-2 and shocks from 5-1 and 6-1 to 12-1 and 20-1.

I’ve landed one of each in the last three years, with 12-1 outsider Trip To Paris and 11-10 on favourite Order Of St George, who let me down for a hat-trick last season.

4.20 Royal Ascot (Coronation Stakes, Friday next) The market situation again shows the front three as more or less equal between bookie and BETDAQ. But then the gulf widens again:

5-1 Teppal 7.4 BETDAQ
6-1 Happily 27.0 BETDAQ
7-1 Wind Chimes 9.0 BETDAQ
9-1 Coeur De Beaute 18.5 BETDAQ
12-1 Capla Temptress 19.0 BETDAQ
12-1 Soliloquy 33.0 BETDAQ
14-1 Could It Be Love 19.5 BETDAQ
14-1 Magical 48.0 BETDAQ
14-1 Veracious 21.0 BETDAQ
16-1 Barkaa 47.0 BETDAQ
18-1 I Can Fly 41.0 BETDAQ
18-1 Liquid Amber 35.0 BETDAQ
18-1 Threading 17.0 BETDAQ
20-1 Altyn Orda 20.0 BETDAQ
20-1 Anna Nerium 21.0 BETDAQ

NEVER 9.0! NEVERLAND VALUE

1.20 Newbury Expert Eye, who won a division of this novice juveniles race last season, is being prepared for next Friday’s Commonwealth Cup, which gives you a measure of what could emerge from the race.

The money overnight was for the Clive Cox’s Wise Counsel but favourites do badly, with recent results including one at 80-1, and the trainer hasn’t had a winner at Newbury from 48 starters in 635 days.

Almurr should improve. Azets and Nathless are the only Group-1 entered horses but both are expected to need time.

Daafr is out of a half-sister to Order Of St George, so this might be a bit sharp for him, but Neverland Rock is bred to relish today’s trip: 9.0 offers on BETDAQ.

1.40 Nottingham My man in the long grass told me last night that Alfred Boucher knows his stuff.

That word must have got around, as suggested by his run of 12-1 into 13-2 with the bookies overnight, and I took 7.2 in the BETDAQ orange.

2.55 Newbury With both Dramatic Queen and Mrs Sippy ring rusty after long absences, the way seems clear for Sea of Class to double up on her Newbury CD win on firm ground of less than a month ago.

3.30 Newbury The third and sixth when Madeleine Bond was runner-up on her seasonal return have both scored since.

She won three last summer including one under Nicola Currie, who is back in the plate today.

She is a daughter of Monsieur Bond, whose progeny do best on good-to-firm ground. Henry Candy won this race with a four-year-old two seasons back. The name’s Bond, Madeleine Bond at BETDAQ 9.0.

Well backed overnight, Wind In My Sails, who won three on firm in the summer of 2016, is now down below the rating off which he completed the three. The middle leg was over today’s CD at Newbury. BETDAQ 8.4 offers.

4.35 Newbury It’s just under a year since Hughie Morrison had a winner at Newbury. He’s had 30 losers in that time, plunging his strike rate there to 7%.

Yet, of all the races on the course, this is the one he singles out for success! From four runners, he’s had two winners and one other placed. One way or another, one set of stats will lie today.

His runner, Pippin, seems to have been kept to softish surfaces so far, and any showers may not be enough to turn the ground from the firmish side.

I fancy Encryption, a well-bred individual who has switched to David Simcock after being gelded, moved up to a middle distance and with Jamie Spencer booked. BETDAQ 7.4.

LATE ST PATRICK’S DAY PARTY

7.05 Leopardstown (Ballycorus Stakes) Three-year-olds now start to overwhelm some of the older horses, thanks to their allowance.

St Patrick’s Day (2.42 on BETDAQ this morning but likely to be shorter) is a latecomer to the Irish scene but the full brother to American triple Crown winner, American Pharoah, is a good bet at 2.42 on lively ground.

True Valour has always needed a right -hand course (2-2) as opposed to going anti-clockwise (0-8), and Ardhoomey hasn’t won beyond 5f since his maiden in 2015.

7.25 Haydock Certain Lad’s switch from Royal Ascot to this lowly event is a big pointer on the face of it but he was 2.44 on BETDAQ this morning because of strong opposition from the unraced Pablo Escobarr (offered at 3.0, as I write)
