FOURTEEN-WINNER SEQUENCE: VALUE SPECIAL TOMORROW: Celestran (WON 11-4) quickly put Daqman on 14 winners in six days yesterday but then the sequences ended: naps (4-4) and supernaps (2-2). He marks time today on the declared day for maidens, but returns to his special bets with the first bid tomorrow to use his value method on 1,000 Guineas day. Today’s nap is among his outsiders at Newmarket (see below). Headlines:

TOMORROW: Daqman’s value booster and bull’s-eye bets.

TANGO HAS KAMEKO YARD DANCING

One for the layers. The Kempton Classic Trial had layers cheering twice over. First Hypothetical was the big punt, then Max Vega was a steamer, but neither could finish in the frame.

Berlin Tango, the most exposed after five races and only one win, seemed to take advantage of some non-stayers, and the benefit of a run on the Kempton course in March.

Hypothetical could be called the winner two out but faded; Born With Pride could never be called anything in decent language. She was never at the races.

Berlin Tango, taking a leap forward as do so many sons of Dansili, must have boosted Andrew Balding’s Kameko Guineas hopes and, rightly or wrongly, shot an unknown called Chares into prominence.

The ex-French, German-bred Chares landed four out of four when beating Berlin Tango at Kempton in March on his first outing for Jane Chapple-Hyam. Chares has no specified entries but no doubt will have some after this!

Enemy, John Gosden’s half-brother to Group-1 middle-distance stars, was not punished at Yarmouth, allowed to run his own race in second after being outpaced, shown a lot of daylight, though clearly needing further than the seven furlongs.

TOP TEN FOR THE FILLIES’ CLASSIC

3.35 Newmarket, Sunday (1,000 Guineas) With no trials ahead of this race, we are entirely dependent on two-year-old form; 9 out of 12 past winners had won a Group race, and you can delete runners rated 100 and lower.

Aidan O’Brien has won five 1,000 Guineas, Sir Michael Stoute 2. The ratings are on the left, with each filly’s Group record as of paramount importance.

111 LOVE (AIDAN O’BRIEN): GROUP 1 ONE, GROUP 3 ONE

Won the Moyglare and third in the Fillies Mile.

115 MILLISLE (JESSICA HARRINGTON): GROUP 1 ONE

Won three out of five including the Cheveley Park Stakes.

114 QUADRILATERAL (ROGER CHARLTON): GROUP 1 ONE

Unbeaten in three races; won the Fillies Mile.

114 RAFFLE PRIZE (MARK JOHNSTON): GROUP 2 TWO

Second in the Morny and to Millisle in the Cheveley Park.

103 ROSE OF KILDARE (MARK JOHNSTON) GROUP 3 TWO

Won the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket

107 BOOMER (TOM DASCOMBE): GROUP 3 ONE

Won the Ladbrokes Prestige Stakes, second in the May Hill

106 UNDER THE STARS (JAMES TATE): GROUP 3 ONE

Won the Princess Margaret at Ascot

108 SO WONDERFUL (AIDAN O’BRIEN)

Fourth Debutante Stakes; third to Love in the Moyglare.

106 CLOAK OF SPIRITS (RICHARD HANNON)

Sixth in the May Hill; third in the Rockfel Stakes

104 SUMMER ROMANCE (CHARLIE APPLEBY)

Third in a Group 3 at Salisbury

A DREAM SHOT INTO THE PAVILION

⚠️ HEADS UP: WINNERS (first three days of the Flat): TRAINERS John Gosden 5, Mark Johnston 5, Andrew Balding 3, Sir Michael Stoute 3, Richard Fahey 3, Tim Easterby 2, Shaun Keightley 2, Archie Watson 2.

⚠️ HEADS UP: JOCKEYS Hollie Doyle 4, David Probert 4, Dane O’Neill 3, Ben Curtis 2, Joe Fanning 2, Silvestre De Sousa 2, Andrea Atzeni 2, Franny Norton 2

3.35 Newmarket Backers are hit for six at Newmarket today. The equivalent of a whole card of two-year-old maidens (65 of them racing from 1.15 to 4.10) launches the Guineas meeting.

Best news in the 3.35 to oppose the expensive Godolphin buy Sky Angel is Risk Of Thunder for a trainer who has already had a two-year-old winner this week: BETDAQ 9.9. Best outsider 15.0 Give ‘Em The Slip, who is a sharp sort.

3.55 Newcastle (Pavilion Stakes, Group 3) Faced with all those unraced two-year-olds at Newmarket, I was glad to return to the Geordie shore where I did well on the opening days of the week.

Charles Hills has had three runners so far (finishing 221), and Fleeting Prince could be a hidden horse. Win 29.0 and BETDAQ place 6.1.

A’Ali has won Group races but is 4lb worse off for his length defeat in the Flying Childers of Dream Shot, who has done exceptionally well over the winter and whose trainer has had a winner this week. Value at BETDAQ 9.8.

4.45 Newmarket After the maidens, four handicaps to complete a 10-race card. Handicap betting is a pinstickers’ game at this time of year, delayed start or not, but here goes.

Pam Sly’s Drummond Warrior (11.0), lightly-raced firm-ground lover, has had a wind op before this return, and can tuck in on the rail from stall 2.

The 7.3 BETDAQ offer Ginger Fox is 3-6 on AW over the winter and 2-2 for Hollie Doyle, who is jockeys’ leader this first week of the restart.

FIRM HOPES OF CHAMPION’S MAGIC

5.20 Another lightly raced who likes firm ground is Magic J. Champion jockey Oisin Murphy booked for 3.55 BETDAQ favourite.

Ginger Jam was a bread-and-butter horse last year but is raised in grade under Cieren Fallon and there’s no encouragement from the Tinkler outfit, which has long been out of form.

The question mark over Texting is whether she’ll last the extra furlong in the wide-open spaces of the Rowley Mile course.

5.55 Via Serendipity won at Wolverhampton in February off 105 (class 2) and returns to grass here (class 3) 15lb lower on a rating of 90. Take a first position via BETDAQ 9.8.

Arbalet hasn’t won above class 5, and that was two years ago. Punters are taking a hopeful view after his 264 days off and switch from Hugo Palmer to David O’Meara.
