TREBLE OF FAVOURITES TO LAY?

KEY STATS: The Norfolk Stakes, King George V Handicap and Britannia Handicap are all very poor races for favourites. The Buckingham Palace Handicap is regularly won by extreme high numbers in the draw.

🎩 2.30 Royal Ascot (Norfolk Stakes, 5f) STATS: See Daqman last Thursday.

The Antarctic is brother to Battash, and related down the dam’s side to Tasleet, who was beaten a neck in the Jubilee sprint here. Jungle Fever is brother to Winter Power, the Cornwallis and Nunthorpe winner.

Brave Nation was impressive at Doncaster in April and Michael Bell’s sole runner at Royal Ascot this week was a two-year-old who upped her game and ran second in the Queen Mary.

Though favourites haven’t scored, seven of the 10 winners in the decade have been 4-1 to 8-1 SP. Walbank may yet be ‘anything’ but beat four losers at York, and I prefer The Antarctic.

I expect Bakeel to drift: the one he beat at Ascot in April, Whistle And Flute, was stone last in the Windsor Castle yesterday.

DAQMAN’S 1-2-3 (BETDAQ offers total 101%): 4.8 The Antarctic, 8.6 Brave Nation, 2.92 Walbank.

VINA SENA IS A HIDDEN HORSE

🎩 3.05 Royal Ascot (King George V Handicap, 1m 4f) STATS: See Daqman last Thursday.

Post Impressionist is the right weight and draw; his Newcastle conqueror, Eldar Eldarov, won here yesterday and, as runner-up with bags of stamina in his pedigree, posted a good finish to the line, and will be suited to this quarter-mile further.

The form link is Honiton, who was third at Newcastle, about 8lb behind Post Impressionist, and a similar distance at Chester behind Secret State, who has to give 4lb today.

Team Johnston does well in this race and it was no shame for their Beverley winner Achnamara to step up two grades and more than two furlongs when just run out of it at Doncaster, with four previous winners behind. Back to 1m 4f now.

Brother to Oaks winner, Snowfall, Newfoundland took time to break his maiden but has Group entries, so must surely figure in this handicap.

Israr, who shone in the London Gold Cup, will also improve for the 12f. Runner-up Surrey Mist had won his two previous starts.

HIDDEN HORSE: The ace big-field rider Jamie Spencer has an intriguing ride, Vina Sena, for Henry De Bromhead. Bred for a St Leger, but restrained at 1m 2f until today. Should catch the Navan winner Yashin over the extra distance.

There is bags of stamina in Flying Dolphin’s family, and the Derby-winning combination of Stoute and Kingscote have Balhambar up in trip. What a race!

DAQMAN’S 1-2-3 (BETDAQ offers total 104%): 5.2 Post Impressionist, 9 Newfoundland, 33.0 Vina Sena.

SILK SMOOTH ON FIRM GROUND

🎩 3.40 Royal Ascot (Ribblesdale Stakes) STATS: See Daqman last Thursday.

Sea Silk Road (BETDAQ 3.1) won the final Oaks trial at Goodwood on the soft but William Haggas said immediately that she would do better on a sound surface.

Life Of Dreams was ‘run over’ by Emily Upjohn in the Musidora but is bred to do better over today’s trip.

The 1,000 Guineas third, Concert Hall (narrowly ahead of Agartha), was four lengths behind Emily in the Oaks itself, after short-heading Musical Lagoon at Navan.

History was lucky to beat Agartha (suffered interference) at Leopardstown, and was behind Concert Hall in the Irish 1,000.

THE NEW CUP KING IS KYPRIOS

🎩 4.20 Royal Ascot (Ascot Gold Cup, 2m 4f) STATS: See Daqman last Thursday.

The weather has favoured Stradivarius and dried up Trueshan’s chances. Stradivarius tries to match Yeats’ records of four wins in the Gold Cup and they would be the only winners at the age of eight since Merman in 1900.

Stradivarius (2018-20) so far matches the three by Sagaro (1974-77) and he closed in the bettng last night, though also backed were Kyprios and Princess Zoe.

Though the grey mare has taken her best races on deep going, including the 2020 French Gold Cup, she won on the last day on firm here at Ascot, beating Quickthorn, who went on to win the Henry 11 Stakes at Sandown.

Kyprios goes for a hat-trick, hiked hugely in trip, after winning the Saval Beg, which was a stepping-stone to this ‘gold’ for Yeats, Fame And Glory and Order Of St George.

It looks very much like a case of long live the king, Stradivarius, and long live king Kyprios.

DAQMAN’S 1-2-3 (BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE offers total 101%): 2.62 Kyprios, 3.25 Stradivarius, 8.5 Princess Zoe

TIME READY TO RULE BRITANNIA

🎩 5.00 Royal Ascot (Britannia Handicap, 1m) STATS: See Daqman last Thursday.

Nine out of the last 11 renewals have been won from double-figure stalls, and on the first two days this week, stalls 15, 16 (twice), 17 (twice) and 18 down the middle of the track had the spotlight over this kind of trip, with six places out of nine in three Royal Ascot races.

Esher Cup winner Wanees (21) is saddled the day after his stable won the Royal Hunt Cup with Dark Shift.

The State Of Rest winning team, Shane Crosse and Joseph O’Brien, are back with Amortentia (14), winner at the Naas’ Royal Ascot Trials in a race which saw last year’s runner-up go to Ascot and finish second in another handicap this week.

Barley (13) gave 9lb at Doncaster and just pipped He’s A Gentleman before that one was beaten a length by Jimi Hendrix (12), who was giving 5lb, at Haydock.

Whoputfiftyinyou copped a 10lb rise for winning the Haydock Silver Bowl from Mighty Ulysses, who was fifth in a blanket finish to Guineas winner Coroebus in the Group-1 St James’s Palace Stakes on Tuesday.

King Of Time led Coroebus before that one won the 2,000 Guineas, so was supported with confidence when he, too, scored at Newmarket.

DAQMAN’S 1-2-3-4 (BETDAQ offers total 105%): 6.8 King Of Time, 17.0 Amortentia, 8.5 Wanees, 8.4 Whoputfiftyinyou.

VAFORTINO BIG AT BETDAQ 10.0

🎩 6.10 Royal Ascot (Buckingham Palace Handicap, 7f) STATS: See Daqman last Thursday.

A middle–to-high draw is favoured and BETDAQ 10.0 offer, Vafortino, is well positioned in 20, only 5lb higher than for his Victoria Cup win over CD in early May and claimed off.

🤔 LAYS LOGIC: His Goodwood win has cost Montassib a 10lb rise, though the third, fourth and fifth have failed to reach the frame since, and he’s way out in the one stall. Silent Film is up 11lb for back-to-back success in Dubai and Bahrain.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
