DAQMAN GOES FOR A SIX HIT: Daqman’s spot on with the news but struggling for winners this week. Maybe spreading six bets around four meetings, with a supernap at Salisbury, will change his luck.

TALISMANIC ARC PUNT ON BETDAQ

TOLD YOU SO (1) Daqman’s tip that Enable will have her Arc prep in the September Stakes was confirmed yesterday by the John Gosden stable.

Enable now definitely swerves next week’s Ebor meeting at York, which leaves Poet’s Word and Roaring Lion disputing favouritism for the International Stakes.

Reaction to Deauville yesterday was for BETDAQ traders to deal Talismanic (Group 3 winner) down to 16.0 for the Arc, with a ring-rusty Study of Man (Group 2 loser) out to 14.0.

But the French Derby winner is scheduled for another race before the Arc, the Prix Niel on Arc Trials day,Sunday, September 16.

However, there has to be a question-mark over the French Classic form in that the first three in the Chantilly Derby were all beaten yesterday, with Oisin Murphy on the Harry Dunlop winner, Knight To Behold, insisting their four-lengths win was no fluke.

TOLD YOU SO (2) Daqman’s revised ratings for three-year-olds, published on Tuesday, and which hiked Alpha Centauri to 124, were spot on, according to the official handicapper.

He has raised Sunday’s big Deauville winner to the same figure as Daqman, 124, with the Derby winner, Masar, on 121 (but 120 with Daqman).

FOLLOW BEVERLEY DRAW AGAIN

3.30 Beverley Too big to lay (at 6.4 on BETDAQ this morning) but favourite backers will worry that B Fifty Two is with a yard that’s never had a winner on the course, and has failed to score anywhere for three weeks.

The low draw continued to dominate at the meeting yesterday with the four winners by stall up to a mile: 6, 3, 2 and 1.

B Fifty Two is in the four stall, which is some comfort to backers, but I preferred Arnold in 5 at 7.6 on BETDAQ. He defied a 10 draw to score here in July.

3.40 Salisbury Another stable trying to break its duck on a course today is Mark Gillard with The Lord’s Walk, one of the favourites with bookmakers but a drifter to 8.2 in the BETDAQ orange as I write.

Gillard hasn’t had a winner on the Flat for more than two years, and I fancy the local horse, Flying Sakhee, who brings Lingfield form to this, but not on AW, on turf. BETDAQ 6.6 taken

STABLE CONFIDENCE IN ELARQAM

4.10 Salisbury (Sovereign Stakes) Talismanic’s trainer, Andre Fabre, pays only his third visit to England this year and his first ever to Salisbury, taking back-to-form Plumatic away from the soft ground in France, hoping for a sound surface for this Group 3.

Plumatic was aimed very high in 2017, last in the French Derby and 13th of 18 in Enable’s Arc, but the morning rain may have spoilt his chance.

Elarqam, fourth and sixth in the English and Irish Guineas, won’t mind the weather and has trainer Mark Johnston putting his neck on the line, ‘very, very hopeful’ at a supernap even money.

4.40 Salisbury Three-year-olds have won this nine times out of 10 in the decade and Sir Michael Stoute, who took it with the favourite two years ago seems to have found the right race for Crystal Moonlight, turned over at odds on when a small-field race at Chester became a sprint.

But you worry about the pace here again, and the one who isn’t phased by small fields is Hyanna, who looks big at 4.0.

SOFT TOUCH FOR JUMIRA PRINCE

5.35 Chepstow The ground is already soft. It’s Berkshire Boy’s winning course in these conditions. But he’s a quirky sort, and usually runs at 7f.

So I’d be more inclined to put your trust in Jumira Prxince (BETDAQ (4.2), soft-ground winner at Doncaster over the trip.

6.25 Yarmouth Another contest farmed by the three-year-olds, and seemingly set up for Courtside, who has won one of two races as favourite under Jamie Spencer since his seasonal debut.
