ONE-TWO FOR DAQMAN LANDS HIM WINNER NUMBER 14 IN A WEEK: Daqman named the one-two in the Juddmonte International at York yesterday, and finished a week of FOURTEEN WINNERS with a profit of 142.19 over the seven days. Live In The Moment (2nd 12-1) would have taken him close to the 200-points mark had he caught Copper Knight, and Daqman will be looking for that big-odds strike with three days to go at York.

DOUBLE-WHAMMY DARE IN YORKSHIRE OAKS CLASH OF TOP FILLIES: Here’s how the Daqman special bets look on Yorkshire Oaks day when his Fortune Cookies could land their own one-two with Snowfall and Wonderful Tonight. But Daqman has a different double whammy in mind, involving Lays Logic, and says: ‘He who dares at the right prices wins in the long run’.

FRANKIE COMING ON THE OUTSIDE

⭕ 1.50 York (Lowther Stakes) This is largely a race to spend two-year-old talent.

Tiggy Wiggy (2014) stepped up and won the Cheveley Park afterwards, but 50% of recent Lowther winners never won another race, not a one.

Sandrine and Desert Dreamer are among the market leaders for the fillies’ Classics next year but, even if they win this, do not appeal beyond their juvenile season.

The pair were first and second, with Hello You third, at the July Meeting, with Sandrine and Desert Dreamer both earmarked for the Cheveley Park but, in the way of using up what they’ve got, connections take in today, with nothing outside the trio rated 100 or more, though there’s another one to add to the group, Zain Claudette, who beat Desert Dreamer a nose at Ascot last month.

Illustrating also ties in. Beat Anadora at Goodwood after that one was well behind Sandrine at Ascot.

When they’re all of a heap like that, you are entitled to look for something to beat them, and it could be Mark Johnston again, after his Royal Patronage took the Acomb yesterday.

Johnston’s Outside World (Frankie Dettori) has already won over the York CD and could easily improve, as one set aside for today for reasons which smack of the sentimental but could be very sensible.

Her mother, Nahoodh, won the Lowther, moved to Johnston the following Spring and took the Group-1 Falmouth Stakes.

WINGS IS GOING TO WAR BIG TIME

⭕ 2.25 York Winners yesterday at 25-1, 18-1 and 16-1 are a reminder that York is a law unto itself and that young unexposed horses are grist to the layer. But here am I grappling with a 21-horse Sales race for two-year-olds, refusing to be a pinsticker.

In fact, eight times out of 10, this race is won by a fancied candidate (2-1 to 10-1 SP), so put your pins down and watch that BETDAQ market!

Richard Hannon has won this four times in the decade (today runs System, Symphony Perfect, On Herberts Reign, Three Dons), and Kevin Ryan twice (now saddles Monsieur Jumbo, Shalardar, Smullen).

The grey colt Wings Of War (Dark Angel out of a Kodiak mare) could be really useful; has had his easy Nottingham win franked by the third and is well drawn. Entered in the Mill Reef and the Middle Park.

A good run by Desert Dreamer in the first would boost the form of her Newmarket conqueror, System, probably best of the Hannon quartet.

BETDAQ value 7.4 System, 7.6 Wings Of War

A MAGICAL MORNING OFFER OF 19.0

⭕ 3.00 York Low stalls (1 to 4) have won this four times; five from gates 13 to 18, with only one in the middle, so generally the eight midway stalls (5 to 12) get swallowed up almost every time.

Baashir (from the one stall) has a high head-carriage but leaves himself with plenty of petrol in the tank and, related on the dam’s side to the family Nashwan, should enjoy this step up in trip.

Baashir’s Charles Hills stable was back to form for York, with returns of 1100010100101 for 6-13 in the four days before the meeting opened.

La Trinidad (stall 20) has to keep going if he is to scale these heights after back-to-back York wins in classes 4 and 2 have raised him 12lb in the handicap.

Magical Morning (18) must have a sound surface. He turned over Maydanny at these weights at Sandown but gave best quickly on the soft at Goodwood.

Astro King (17), runner-up in the Royal Hunt Cup, also has his ground, after finishing lame here when stepped up to 1m 2f.

Ametist (19) was a game 7f hat-trick winner in the summer, whose last-day flop has dropped him 4lb.

BETDAQ value 8.6 Astro King, 18 Baashir, 19 Magical Morning,

CAN SNOW FALL TO WONDERFUL 5.7?

⭕ 3.35 York (Yorkshire Oaks) Fortune Cookies clash with odds-on Snowfall and Wonderful Tonight, who will be dismissed as only ever winning in soft-heavy.

So I’ve lost one ‘bet’ already: I thought David Menuisier would run her in the Prix Pomone at Deauville which has had rain and where rain is forecast. But she’s here and clearly the best value of today’s race.

SNOWFALL has won consecutively the Musidora (here at York), the Epsom Oaks and then the Irish Oaks, beating as runners-up Noon Star (when 98), Mystery Angel (at 100) and Divinely by eight lengths off 104.

WONDERFUL TONIGHT British Champion last autumn when beating Dame Malliott (114), Hardwicke winner over Broome (115) and Goodwood winner the last day with Divinely (106 now) 16 lengths behind.

The equaliser is the age allowance but is 1.42 Snowfall so dominating as to offer an over-the-top 5.7 Wonderful Tonight?

I’m sure Ballydoyle lemmings will only laugh off this stat: Aidan O’Brien is just 1-27 in England and Ireland in the last fortnight.

LAYS LOGIC Double whammy: Wonderful win and Snow fall from grace. You win some, you lose some but, at the right prices, you win enough over time to make it pay, and I shall not flinch if my double whammy turns out to be a dummy whammy. I’ll just work hard to restore my lays to 75%.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
