7-1 BIG-RACE CELEBRATION AFTER WINNERS AT 81-10 AND 5-1: IT WAS a delayed celebration from Sunday’s big-race hits that put Daqman 16-6 in front of Pricewise. IT WAS Minellacelebration (WON 7-1) in another feature race, the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter yesterday. IT WAS magic as, six lengths down at the last, he got up on the line. Jumps racing is back big time, and Daqman’s winners are back with it!

Yesterday’s strike
WON 7-1 MINELLACELEBRATION (Summer Cup, Uttoxeter)

Sunday big-race double
WON 81-10 FANCY BLUE (French Oaks from 10.0 on BETDAQ)
WON 5-1 DEJA (Old Newton Cup from 9.0 on BETDAQ)

STOUTE HAS HIS HOT COOKIE LINED UP FOR YORK THIS WEEK: Racing seems to be where racing should be as it stages the July Meeting at Newmarket this weekend, but ahead of that is the May meeting at York, with its Classic Trials, the last vestiges of a topsy-turvy Spring. Daqman is glad it’s there; so is Sir Michael Stoute. He runs what may yet be one of the season’s top three-year-olds, ‘held in the highest regard’. Already in the Fortune Cookies,of course!

DANTE IS STILL HIGHEST HONOUR

The trials come after the Classics! This upside-down cake of a three-year-old season, has the Derby and Oaks followed this week by the top trials for the Derby and Oaks!

The Dante Stakes and the Musidora will be run on Thursday in the week after the Classics they usually provide prep and guidance for.

We have two Fortune Cookies oven ready for York, where the ‘trials’ are now races in their own right.

Looking further into the summer, I’ve added another Aidan O’Brien two-year-old as the juvenile trials loom, plus two strong whispers in advance of Galway at the end of this month and beginning of August.

🏇 ARAMON Has come good in his preps for the Galway Hurdle, quickening clear of the experienced Petit Mouchoir at Tipperary towards the end of last month.

🏇 BATTLEGROUND looks like a sequence horse in the two-year-old tests of the summer months.

🏇 BRAZIL Look out for this stablemate to Battleground. A brother to Capri.

🏇 DANDALLA Known in the yard as ‘the double of Laurens’, won the Albany at Ascot. Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes, Friday.

🏇 ENABLE The most rewarding of Fortune Cookies, now heads for the King George (Saturday, July 25)

🏇 FANCY BLUE Could attempt the French Oaks and Irish Oaks (July 18) double after a scintillating ride by Jean-Charles Boudot at Chantilly.

🏇 FANNY LOGAN Look out for her in the Princess of Wales Tattersalls Stakes at the July Meeting on Friday.

🏇 FRANCONIA The John Gosden – Frankie Dettori duo is really just warming up! Goes for the Musidora at York this week.

🏇 HIGHEST GROUND Already listed in Fortune Cookies as ‘held in the highest regard’ by Sir Michael Stoute and heading for Thursday’s Dante Stakes.

🏇 US AND THEM Another late developer; laid out for the Galway Plate by Joseph O’Brien.

🏇 WONDERFUL MOON There’s still a Derby to come, the German Derby on Sunday, with this one talked about in the same breath as their Arc winner, Danedream

AUTUMN HORSES carried forward: Addeybb, Art Power, Born With Pride, Innisfree, Miss O’Connor, Patrick Sarsfield.

GOOD WHISPER FOR NAP

⭕ 2.50 Pontefract: Angel’s Whisper faces a much easier task here now that Frankelio has been re-routed to Ripon tomorrow.

Trained by Amy Murphy, Angel’s Whisper bids to follow-up her course and distance success of last month off a 7lb higher mark but has a sound chance of doing that given her win was pretty decisive under today’s pilot Silvestre De Sousa.

Pontefract is a quirky course and previous winning form should always be marked up.

Granite City Doc is up 4lb for his recent win at Hamilton and his trainer Mike Smith is in good form. Although the win at Hamilton came on soft ground – he also has winning form on faster ground but has yet to try out the contours of Ponty.

Athmad is a slow burner but coming into some sort of form. Ruth Carr’s runner went into the notebook after finishing fifth at Doncaster last week and could easily run into a place here, although confidence is tempered by the fact that the stable form is pretty cold.

LADY B TO PIPALONG

⭕ 3.20 Pontefract (Pipalong Stakes) A wide open BETDAQ market for this Listed event for fillies and mares over a mile.

It’s a race that has thrown up plenty of surprise winners – the last three years have seen 25/1, 14/1 and 11/1 victors.

It looks a very strong renewal with representatives from the Varian, Gosden and Fanshawe yards all at the top of the market.

Might be a race to try and find something at a price and I like the look of Lady Bowthorpe (in both win and place markets) who is another one partnered today by Silvestre De Sousa.

She’s returning from a spell handicapping where she has been running with credit, including finishing second to Be More in a class 2 event at Newmarket last season.

Whilst she has something to find on the figures she remains progressive and could easily surprise.

Salayel as favourite has the obvious chance after her second to Sir Busker in the Silver Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.

ISLAND TO HIT 6 AT PONTEFRACT?

⭕ 4.30 Pontefract A hugely competitive six furlong finale in which Round The Island makes some appeal.

He’s a course specialist (as mentioned earlier a big plus) – five of his six wins have come here and off a mark of 55 he looks dangerous.
