DAQMAN’S JOB JOCKEYS TO FOLLOW: Daqman reveals some of his tipping secrets in an occasional series starting today. Which jockeys do the job when asked to bring home the favourite?

BACK-TO-BACK HIGH-STAKES NAPS: Louis Treize (WON evens) landed a large-stakes nap at Newcastle yesterday. Now he steps up the stake to 20-point supernap status at Bath.

YOUR EIGHT FAVOURITE JOCKEYS

WHAT IF.. 50% of your bets were likely to win? One answer is to follow jockeys who win around 50% of the time when riding favourites.

The table also reveals which stables the ‘50% jockeys’ win most of their races for: John Gosden and Roger Varian are the names that figure twice.

58% ROBERT HAVLIN 18-31 favourites (John Gosden 23-84)
54% LUKE MORRIS 19-35 favourites (Sir Mark Prescott 17-60)
54% DAVID NOLAN 13-24 favourites (David O’Meara 17-73)
53% DAVID EGAN 15-28 favourites (Roger Varian 9-29)
53% EDWARD GREATREX 9-17 favourites (Archie Watson 7-41)
52% PAUL MULRENNAN 13-25 favourites (Michael Dods 7-46)
50% JACK MITCHELL 9-18 favourites (Roger Varian 9-34)
47% FRANKIE DETTORI 16-34 favourites (John Gosden 14-54)

ABLE TIM’S EXCESS OF WINNERS

4.10 Catterick While Dapper Man is 23lb higher than when his four-out-of-six spree began in May, Excessable has dropped 11lb.

After seven starts in grades 2 and 3, he is down to class 4 for the first time in more than a year in a race his trainer Tim Easterby has won four times in nine seasons.

Merry Banter’s record on this track is 3121, while Bosham should play catch-me from a good draw. Excessable looked big at 5.7 on BETDAQ.

4.30 Bath Cheekpieces and a drop back to the minimum could see the overly keen Bath And Tennis make all the running here.

Has only the maiden Global Rose to beat, according to the market, but was a shade of odds against this morning; you could get 2.08 on BETDAQ.

7.15 Naas It’s a clash of the nearly horses. In fact, they’re fillies and mares trying to get some black type for the paddocks in a Listed sprint (6f).

Could It Be Love (in particular) and Mamba Noire have already been placed in Group events, as were the last three winners.

Soffia and Fire Opal should improve but Could It Be Love (3.4 on BETDAQ, though erratic, has a rating 12lb superior to anything else in the race.

PACE RACE SET UP FOR DELAGATE

6.55 Sandown Anonymous John was one of Dominc Ffrench Davis’ 50% record of the last 14 days (3-6) but dropping the grey back to the minimum on this ultrafast track is a bit of a worry.

I think Delagate This Lord (5.0 BETDAQ offers), pipped less than a length in a better race here a month back, could pounce on front-runners Glamorous Rocket (up 19lb since the start of his AW run) and Waseem Faris, another who much prefers a man-made surface.
