FORTUNATE NAP AT FONTWELL OVER JUMPS: Not an easy day on the Flat – just juveniles all afternoon at Newmarket – so Daqman dissects the National Hunt scene at Fontwell and Worcester. His Worcester tip is worthy; his nap at Fontwell must be fortunate! Headlines:

FRANKIE IS KING FOR A DAY

It’s mostly Frankie. Two-year-old day at Newmarket has Dettori on five rides for John Gosden, including Mostly and King Leonidas.

Mostly (1.20) is a half-sister to the British Championship (Fillies and Mares) winner, Journey, a Dubawi mare also trained by Gosden. Those that have already run look moderate and others that haven’t are not with trainers you’d expect to score first time out.

Much the same can be said of King Leonidas (1.55), a 750,000gns son of Kingman out of a Galileo mare, though Al Zaraqaan and Mafia Power are well related. I took 3.4 on each of the Dettori juveniles.

THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY

12.45 Worcester (Fred and Mercy Rimell Memorial) Robinshill hasn’t won a chase for almost two years. He went hurdling after a long break three weeks ago, when racereaders said he looked strong and only had to repeat his solid effort to return to the winner’s enclosure soon.

He’s back over fences now, 15lb lower than that last chase win, and Team Twiston-Davies has won this race before.

Field Exhibition took a mares race very easily at Hereford but the ground has changed and she’s up 7lb.

King Alfonso carries a penalty on his hat-trick mission and has never been able to climb out of class 4 before.

You could say the same for Truckers Highway but he was impressive at Uttoxeter recently; put back-to-back wins together last autumn, and could well do the same again.

Versatile as to trip and ground, he won this Rimell Memorial in 2017 and is clearly laid out for a repeat: 6.8 in the BETDAQ orange, early mouse.

WORTHY FARM IS SINGING

1.15 Worcester This has been won by some good young chasers, and there’s a lot to like in this field.

Supremely Lucky (Milan out of a Supreme Leader mare) was bought as a chaser. He ran in Albert Bartlett and Ballymore trials at Cheltenham over hurdles and, after he got off the mark in the Spring, he was put away.

Chinensis, three times a point-to-point winner for Trevor Hemmings, looks another strong player for Team Twiston-Davies today, returning after a long break and a wind op.

The 7.0 BETDAQ offer Worthy Farm, a Beneficial six-year-old, related down the dam’s line to smart staying chaser Niki Dee, showed bags of stamina winning up the hill at Towcester and in a near-3m hurdle of quality at Ascot.

Those who were at Worthy Farm for the Glastonbury Festival noted the closure of the only betting shop in town, hitherto a Hilliam Will FOBT haven. Altogether now: ‘The times they are a changing!’

IT’S A HAT-TRICK BY GEORGE

2.40 Fontwell After completing a hat-trick at Exeter yesterday, following her double at Kempton on Sunday, Emma Lavelle has just the one runner today.

Fortunate George (a 5.5 offer taken) has been dropped a stone since attempting a Grade-3 hurdle at the Grand National meeting at Aintree last Spring.

Hier Encore has landed CD wins here in class 5 and class 4. He could take another step up here in a moderate class 3.

Le Ligerien is also a CD winner but only by winning his maiden; a bridesmaid before and a loser since. Other stables with runners in this are out of form.
