DAQMAN AHEAD OF THE GAME WITH ‘HEAVEN SENT’ BETDAQ OFFERS: It’s not what you do, it’s the way that you do it: that’s what gets results. Daqman’s winner at Goodwood yesterday, Angel Bleu (WON 100-30 from 9.8 on BETDAQ) was enough to make a profit on the day, thanks to his staking plan on BETDAQ offers. He declared ‘Angel’s 9.8 looked heaven sent.’

Tuesday: profit on the day: 8 points
✔️ WON 10-3 ANGEL BLEU (from 9.8 taken on BETDAQ)

Monday: Galway profit: 6.25 points
✔️ WON 14-1 COLTOR

Sunday: profit on the day 8.50 points

GOODWOOD SUPERNAP TEST FOR DAQMAN’S 16-1 GUINEAS WINNER: Daqman won 60 points when Poetic Flare landed the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas (WON 16-1 from 18.5 on BETDAQ). Today is a big day for the colt, taking on all-comers in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood but he goes supernap!

JOHNSTON AGAIN AT BETDAQ 14.0

⭕ 1.50 Goodwood Mark Johnston’s two strikes in this in the decade were a law unto themselves. All winners were drawn in the low six stalls, except his pair, one of them none other than Sir Ron Priestley, the other one racing wide all the way.

Johnston has Ryan Moore riding for him today (Glen Again) with Ben Curtis on lightly-raced Kings Prince, who has won on heavy ground.

Nagano was on a hat-trick mission at Royal Ascot but suffered interference. Had won two races in May with the money down both times.

Siskany, who had similar form, was also interfered with in that race, the King George V Handicap, won by Surefire. Siskany had beaten Surefire at Windsor, eased down.

Pleasant Man won the Bibury Cup at Salisbury, first race after being gelded but the runner-up is still a maiden and the third has also been beaten since.

It was not so pleasant for the Man at Royal Ascot, switched twice and only fourth (behind Glen Again, third) to First Light. But First Light had been behind Siskany and Nagano, only 7th in that King George V to Surefire.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 5.1 Siskany, 14 Glen Again

15.0 TOO BIG FOR BECKETT’S AMOR

⭕ 2.25 Goodwood Onassis is a winner over the Goodwood CD on testing ground but was hiked 8lb for finishing sixth in the British Champions Sprint and has been drawn wide (from 13) today, along with Isabella Giles, Lavender’s Blue, Jouska, Agincourt and Highfield Princess.

Bounce The Blues has been placed twice at Group-3 level one of them on soft the last time Oisin Murphy was in the saddle.

Vadream was third in the Jersey Stakes (soft) at Royal Ascot, the form boosted at Goodwood yesterday by the Jersey winner, Creative Force, beaten a neck in a driving finish.

Valeria Messalina was second in this race last year but was last of six in her only start on soft-heavy. Her tongue-tie might help her wind in such ground.

Meu Amour has form on a deep surface and got some black type when she went clear in a Listed at Carlisle, travelling easily all the way. Her trainer, Ralph Beckett, landed a Goodwood double yesterday.

BETDAQ value 6.0 Vadream, 15.0 Meu Amor.

FLARE STILL BURNS BRIGHT IN RAIN

⭕ 3.35 Goodwood (Sussex Stakes) Some future racing quiz will ask the question, which trainer of the English and Irish Guineas winners in the same season ran both colts to be one-two in the Curragh Classic?

All Aidan O’Brien lemmings will go to the bottom of the class: it was Jim Bolger in 2021, of course.

But the immediate question which affects punters pockets today is whether his Newmarket Guineas winner, Poetic Flare, was short-headed by stablemate Mac Swiney in the Irish version because the ground was soft-heavy and he ran below par.

The Press pundits immediately jump to such conclusions when the going changes but Poetic Flare’s earlier sixth in the French Guineas (very soft) put him within a couple of lengths of St Mark’s Basilica, who is now rated 127, justifying Poetic Flare’s mark of 122.

The last 10 years have been the modern age of fillies and mares but none has won the Sussex Stakes since Soviet Song (2004).

The last Guineas winner to be beaten in the Sussex Stakes was Kameko last year off 119 (hampered; eased right down).

Before that, in 2016, the French Guineas winner (The Gurkha rated 121) was one two with the Newmarket Guineas winner Galileo Gold off 123.

So, no I don’t think Poetic Flare has a problem with the ground sufficient to affect his chance of winning today; no, I don’t think a second-season filly, Snow Lantern or Alcohol Free, can turn over the colt. Both officially have at least 4lb to find. Tilsit, fourth in the Guineas, has not won a Group 1.

Lope Y Fernandez ran second to Palace Pier at Ascot but he is one who has funked it on this ground (form with soft or heavy in the going return: 0000). Ditto for Order Of Australia (soft form: 000).

As Jim Bolger says of Poetic Flare: ‘I’m very happy with my horse – he has improved since winning the St James’s Palace Stakes at Ascot since those Guineas – and I don’t worry too much about anybody else’s.’

BETDAQ value 2.4 Poetic Flare

SHUNTER FOR McMANUS GRAVY TRAIN

⭕ 6.15 Galway Plate Carrying less than 11st and under the age of nine; that covers nine out of 10 winners of this 2m 6f+ Grade A chase.

It’s battle rejoined between Henry de Bromhead, Irish star trainer at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival, and Willie Mullins, Irish star trainer, full stop!

Henry, who has two runners in this, is 2-1 up in the Plate over Wilie in the decade, but Mullins gives himself six chances today.

One of Henry’s, Somptueux, was easily beaten earlier this month by Top Moon but there is an equaliser from the handicapper, who considered Top Moon worth an 8lb hike.

It was that one’s first success since 2019 but he was the gamble of the race for J P McManus who has five runners in the Plate.

His likely favourite, The Shunter, won another Plate at Cheltenham (Assemble fifth) and Simon Torrens’ claim brings him down, close to that 11st barrier. Off You Go is 8lb higher than when winning the Leopardstown Chase

BETDAQ value 9.0 The Shunter, 13.0 Somptueux

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
