BOLGER BET AT BETDAQ 13.5 FOR THE MUNSTER OAKS: It’s Cork’s showpiece day with the Munster Oaks and Cork Derby. Daqman fancies a Jim Bolger filly at 13.5 on BETDAQ. His nap is at Haydock and he has doubles and a treble on Godolphin runners.

AND HERE’S A HEADLINE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.. Daqman looks ahead today to the big-race scene for the season, which explains some of his Fortune Cookies choices. Could this be the headline of the future? Love riding for a fall in the Arc?

LOVE RIDING FOR A FALL IN THE ARC

You need to look at past, present and future. That’s if your personal crystal ball is going to allow you to scry some Fortune Cookies like mine.

I am regarded as some kind of traitor for ‘writing off’ last week’s Epsom Derby winner, Adayar. I didn’t, in fact.

I looked at his form (the past), reckoned his Derby was about horses held up in bad conditions (the present) while he alone – stamina assured – was sent haring off at the winning post.

I didn’t write him off, but saw him as a St Leger winner in a longer race in which stamina would come into play in genuine circumstances (the future).

The King George? Well, first of all, the Derby-and-King-George double hasn’t been done since a certain Galileo in 2001.

But Enable won three King Georges and Frankie Dettori reckons Oaks winner Snowfall ‘the next Enable’ in this age of fillies and mares.

If Snowfall met Adayar in the Arc there would be, at this stage, a foregone conclusion and, reading between the lines, that’s why Adayar is going for the King George: he has to prove himself there and would still have the option of swerving Longchamp in favour of the St Leger (my reasoning all along).

It’s all at the long end of the telescope right now and another of Snowfall’s sex is favourite for the Arc:

BETDAQ Sportsbook on the Arc 8 Love, 9 Tarnawa, 10 Mishriff, 17 Al Aasy, In Swoop, Mare Australis, 21 Pyledriver, 26 Bolshoi Ballet.

FRENCH FUSION ‘DARK’ BEHIND MOLL

⭕ 3.30 Cork (Munster Oaks) Aidan O’Brien is five out of seven in this but it’s hard to fancy High Heels on either form or breeding to make a winning step up to 1m 4f.

Key race could be the Noblesse Stakes over today’s course and distance in April when Moll won, with Haparanda fourth at three lengths and Mighty Blue (winner over further since) a length further back in sixth.

Haparanda was slightly hampered but it’s hard to conceive that she would have beaten the winner or that a first-time visor today will close the gap.

Mighty Blue had beaten Haparandas (third) and Thunder Kiss (fifth) at the Curragh last August.

Jim Bolger’s French Fusion has twice been placed over shorter, three lengths off Epsom Oaks winner Empress Josephine when one of the pace horses at Gowran Park.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 3.45 Moll, 13.5 French Fusion

⭕ 4.00 Cork Derby This is an open Derby, not restricted to age, with the four-year-olds usually winning it.
Best of them may be Federica Sophia, Tejano and a ‘hidden horse’ of Willie Mullins, Swift Verdict, a big Dubawi out of an Irish 1,000 Guineas winner.

Federica Sophia was favourite despite being badly drawn on her reappearance at Leopardstown and is helped by blinkers today. A beautifully-bred Galileo with bags of stamina on the dam’s side, and significant that she was kept in training.

Tejano’s dam is a half-sister to a St Leger winner and, of the older types, Still Standing is a genuine Listed horse but claimed off to reduce his top weight.

BETDAQ value 2.9 Federica Sophia

ACROSS-THE-CARDS TREBLE CHANCE

⭕ 2.35 Haydock, ⭕ 4.40 Yarmouth, ⭕ 6.30 Kempton Mr Consistent! That’s Saeed Bin Surror. The Godolphin limelight has switched to Charlie Appleby, last week’s Derby winning trainer, but Saeed Bin Siroor, who won the 1995 Derby and King George with Lammtara, is currently striking at 36%.

He is 25% first time in handicaps, which applies today to both Secret Moment (4.40 Yarmouth) and Great News (6.30 Kempton).

While he has booked Oisin Murphy for Great News, Marco Ghiani claims 3lb off Secret Moment, who goes to Yarmouth instead of York or Chepstow on Friday.

Meanwhile, Charlie Appleby is knocking them in at a rate of 50% and Albahr (2.35 Haydock), yet another Dubawi, looks good at Haydock under William Buick. That’s one each for Godolphin at three different meetings.

BETDAQ value 5.3 Secret Moment (4.40 Yarmouth), 3.5 Great News (6.30 Kempton)

4.20 Haydock Alan King has an incredible 75% record with horses going for a second success within seven days.

A 6lb penalty fails to cover Oceanline’s official hike in the weights and he’s well in by 3lb on future engagements.

Hollie Doyle and Oceanline romped home at Nottingham when stepped up to 1m 6f and are reunited over the same trip.

BETDAQ value 2.25 Oceanline
