DAQMAN PROFIT WITHOUT A WINNER: Daqman found a way of showing a BETDAQ profit yesterday, despite none of his three bets winning! His highest stake of the day was on Masai Spirit in the place market, second at 5-1. At the recommended stakes, it was enough to finish the day with a small net profit following on from his 16-point gain on Monday. That’s 10 returns in five days.

SEEING DOUBLE IN THE CESAREWITCH: Look out tomorrow for Daqman’s ABC guide to Saturday’s Cesarewitch. Today, he gives you the Heads Up on a Cesarewitch double bid in the English leg at Newmarket on Saturday plus the Curragh’s Irish Cesarewitch on Sunday.

IS FRANKIE JUST SHARK BAIT?

⚠️ HEADS UP: The news that Frankie Dettori will ride his Cesarewitch favourite, Buildmeupbuttercup, has hidden equally high hopes in Willie Mullins’ yard for stablemate Great White Shark.

And with Irish November Handicap winner Mr Everest (Tony Martin) also a confirmed runner, chances of the Irish raiding party stealing the £350,000 Newmarket prize are high. Let’s see what the stats say in my ABC guide tomorrow.

⚠️ HEADS UP: Mr Everest was third in last year’s Irish Cesarewitch, due to be run at the Curragh on Sunday. Fourth home, Nessun Dorma, was staying on well after a long break when only a couple of lengths off Buildmeupbuttercup at Leopardstown last month.

So that race could provide two Cesarewitch winners in two days. But Willie Mullins, trainer of Nessun Dorma, also has last-day winners Diamond Hill and Saglawy in the Curragh version, a race he’s won four times in the decade.

⚠️ HEADS UP: It’s not Willie but Thomas Mullins looking for a Sunday double from back-to-back wins in the Munster National at Limerick via Spider Web. Third and fourth last year, Black Scorpion (Eric McNamara) and Full Cry (Henry de Bromhead), could take him on again.

INESSA HAS PLACE INSURANCE

1.45 Ludlow Dr Richard Newland is striking at nearly 50% (5-11) and Inessa, currently 211231, matches the governor’s form, and has never been out of a place after a break. It’s a cracking mares’ hurdle; one you must watch for the future.

I took 5.6 the win on BETDAQ and was delighted to see better than evens a place, with three chances of getting my win stake back in a nine-horse field.

2.55 Nottingham Duke Of Condicote (a reference to Alan King’s mentor, David Nicholson) and Walkonby (Mick Channon) are getting lumps of weight from the form horses on soft ground in this nursery.

The Duke sneaks into this off 8st (including the boy’s allowance) after the requisite three maiden runs without a penny on him but noted staying on under hands-and-heels riding at Goodwood.

Walkonby, a son of Sixties Icon, whose progeny are endowed with stamina and a love of soft ground, steps up in trip only 5lb higher than for his last-day win. At better than 4.0 and 7.0 respectively in the BETDAQ orange, I could back both.

4.35 Kempton Favourites have won all three runnings of this two-year-old novice stakes, including last year’s success for Sir Michael Stoute.

But will his Mars Landing head the market or will it be Godolphin’s Desert Peace? They were very close this morning but Mars Landing (around 2-1) has twice come up against Palace Pier, who has Dewhurst and Futurity engagements.

INTUITIVE STRONG FAVOURITE

7.10 Kempton James Tate is in cracking form, including a £150,000 sales-race prize at the weekend with Under The Stars, who could try Group company in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.

Intuitive improved for being gelded with a smart success at Chelmsford last month and is a Kempton course winner. Though up in the handicap, he’s unexposed over this extra furlong. It was 7-1 bar one this morning.

7.40 Kempton Always a fair-sized field but some 70% of winners have been drawn in the low five stalls.

Invasion Day (in gate 5 at BETDAQ 7.4) is a sole raider from David O’Meara’s Helmsley yard, never out of the first four in three AW runs.

7.55 Newcastle It’s sometimes heart in your mouth whether 8.6 BETDAQ offer Glengarry gets off to a good start but he went well for Callum Rodriguez when he won this race last year. Callum’s back in the saddle for the first time since, and only 3lb higher.
