CHEERING FROM GRANDSTAND

⭕ 2.10 Brighton The card at Brighton looks tricky. That could almost be a cut and paste for ALL meetings at the South coast seaside town.

Course experience counts for plenty and Grandstand looks worth a small bet in this mile handicap.

Not only is he the only course and distance winner in the line-up but he also arrives here in best form with some reasonable (in the context of this event, the bar is set low) form at Chepstow.

He is partnered for the first time by Gina Mangan today and the partnership appeal more than the morning BETDAQ favourite Somedayonedaynever who unseated her rider on her last visit here after becoming unbalanced.

What was that I was saying about the bar being set low …..

FULL MOON TONIGHT

⭕ 6.20 Kempton There was plenty to like about Moon Watch’s winning debut at Nottingham and he looks the pick of Frankie’s three rides at the Sunbury venue this evening.

The Gosden trained runner fought out the finish at Nottingham with Devoted Poet – the pair pulling seven lengths clear of the third. It was a little disappointing that Devoted Poet couldn’t win at Windsor next time out but he was narrowly beaten by another Gosden trained runner in Operating.

The tester will obviously be the fact that he is penalised but he was very green on debut and with normal improvement should negate the extra weight and remain unbeaten.

Of those that have run, Okeechobee is the biggest danger with the eye-catching booking of Ryan Moore. His debut second to Maktoob at Wolverhampton has been let down with the winner being beaten twice subsequently and was that one was particularly disappointing last time out.

As ever the Betdaq Betting Exchange market should offer some clues on the debutants. The Charles Hills trained Maghlaak had some supporters overnight who will take confidence from some good recent form for the stable including Sydneyarms Chelsea’s Group 3 win in Deauville yesterday.

AN APPLEBY A DAY

⭕ 7.20 Kempton Mick Appleby remains in terrific form sending out 10 winners from his last 47 runners and looks to have a great chance here with Alooqaal who has his first start for the stable since joining from Mick Halford in Ireland.

I’m not sure this one even needs to improve for the change of stable – his third at Gowran Park last time out reads well enough in the context of this race – the front two that day have run good races since and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa looks a positive move.

I’m not too concerned about the drop back in trip and Alooqaal has already proven himself on the all-weather with a couple of good runs at Dundalk.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
