THE EAGLE HAS LANDED ANOTHER WINNING NAP FOR DAQMAN: Daqman swooped yet again for another winner in three yesterday. After Court Jurado (WON 100-30) on Monday, he stepped up a gear to land the nap, Royal Eagle (WON 11-10), at Wolverhampton last night.

TINGLE OF EXCITEMENT IN SUPER SANDOWN SATURDAY AHEAD: Today, there’s a ratings and form guide to the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on Saturday, a BETDAQ no-commission day. Wednesday’s headlines:

🔹 ROUGE MIGHT CAUSE RED FACES
🔹 SYMONDS DESERVES A HIGH FIVE
🔹 JOHNSTON IS MISSING THE MARK
🔹 DELIGHT IS CLEAR OF HER FIELD

ROUGE MIGHT CAUSE RED FACES

⭕  2.25 Sandown, Saturday (Tingle Creek Chase) Previous winners Politologue (2017) and Altior (2018) try to resist the new kids on the block, Greaneteen and Rouge Vif, both Fortune Cookies early-birds.

Favourites have won seven out of 10 and only one winner in the decade has been bigger than 7-2 at SP.

172 Altior The 2018 Tingle Creek was Altior’s 15th consecutive win. In that time, and in the Champion Chase of 2019, he beat Politologue three times.

169 Politologue In Altior’s absence, the year-younger Politologue landed the 2020 Championship but has won only nine chases. Both have been absent since the Spring but all others in the race had their last outing within 44 days.

164 Rouge Vif Like Greaneteen, he is only six years old; unlike Greaneteen, he’s been given a rating within 5lb of Politologue, though he has scored just once above novice class, chase or hurdle.

That was when beating 139 and 142 rated horses at Cheltenham last month. But he was giving them between 7lb and 9lb, so seems on the verge of the breakthrough that could upset the star names.

158 Greaneteen Scottish Champion Chase winner making good progress but needs a personal best – and some! – in this. Moonlighter, neck second to him in the Haldon Gold Cup, had been 14 lengths off Rouge Vif in the Kingmaker at Warwick in the Spring.

154 Castlegrace Paddy Nine now and has not really moved forward in the last two years from his Hilly Way win at Cork (off 150) to his defeat of A Plus Tard (152>154) last month.

154 First Flow Unbeaten in four starts this year, stepping up a stone on soft ground, but seems overrated on his half-length defeat by Dolos (who won off 157 that day) here at Sandown in February, when in receipt of 22lb.

151 Esprit Du Large Won the Henry V111 Novice Chase on this card a year ago but has fallen twice since and was well beaten into third of six last month when odds on.

148 Brewin’upastorm Grade-1 placed as a novice hurdler; won two country chases before, well backed, unseated four out in the Arkle (Rouge Vif third; lost shoe) and Esprit Du Large fell).

SYMONDS DESERVES A HIGH FIVE

⭕ 2.20 Haydock Trainer Tom Symonds, who has a stunning 6-11 record in the last 12 days, restored Indy Five to something like his old self off a mark of 120 at Uttoxeter the last day, his first appearance since February, and champion Brian Hughes rides today.

Symonds took over the 10-year-old from David Dennis, who saw Indy Five shoot up 26lb in the 2017-18 season to be rated 136 but then lose his way with a crushing combination of the heavy burden and leg problems.

Burtons Well has taken two veterans chases like this at Aintree and Doncaster in the last year. He’s won after a break and the Venetia Williams’ yard is also doing really well but the 11-year-old has to give 16lb to Indy Five in the Haydock mud.

The Dutchman had the class to win the Peter Marsh for Colin Tizzard here at Haydock over CD in 2018, and had a spin over hurdles at Wetherby in October for new trainer, Tristan Davidson. We have to reserve judgment on the new yard.

Seeyouatmidnight, Graded winner over hurdles and in novice chases, once beat Bristol De Mai in a duel, and was third in the 2016 Scottish Grand National.

Bounced back at Carlisle the last day, 16lb lower than in his heyday for the Sandy Thomson and Ryan Mania combo who won with 66-1 shot Yorkhill at the weekend.

Fingerontheswitch can win one of these races on better ground; his CV is good but his form on soft-heavy is not.

Late Romantic beat a small field in a time nearly a minute slow at Kelso but was put up 8lb and didn’t last out on his return at Carlisle a month back. I took 3.5 Indy Five on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

JOHNSTON IS MISSING THE MARK..

⭕ 3.20 Lingfield Taking the day out yesterday, Jim Crowley goes to Lingfield looking for a hat-trick by adding another on the end of his double at Kempton on Monday.

He’s probably done the trick by this time but Monjeni is the one I like. His record at Lingfield is 2-2, the only CD winner in the field, and he was back to form the last day. BETDAQ 3.5 taken.

Rochester House is well in, despite topweight. But he is 0-3 on AW; his best turf performances were on the soft, and the Mark Johnston stable is 1-39, missing strike badly.

Johnston has just hit the wire three times in a row with favourites (222), and all told has returned 13 seconds and thirds among his last 28 starters; no winners.

Battle Of Marathon is also unlikely to put two wins together. He loves Lingfield well enough but it’s unusual to see him in a two-miler. His starts over the trip have returned 002, with 1m 4f to 1m 6f his winning distances.

DELIGHT IS CLEAR OF HER FIELD

⭕ 5.00 Kempton You could get 8.7 for every 10 staked on BETDAQ this morning on Sir Michael Stoute’s Eastern Delight.

Visored first time and with Ryan Moore taking over after two near misses, the filly stands further clear of market rivals Model Actress and Illuzzi than the market suggests.

Model Actress is bred for 1m 2f to 1m 6f and is unlikely to have the speed for this 6f. Illuzzi is a first foal and anybody’s guess what can be made of her.

In fact, the guess on her debut was clear to see: she started 28-1 and showed only minor promise at Wolverhampton.

Eastern Delight was runner-up at Lingfield to Chocaya, who had won her previous race and followed on the Lingfield strike with third in a Newmarket Listed.

Capinet, runner-up just in front of Eastern Delight when she was third at Wolverhampton, went on to beat a big field four lengths the last day.
