DAQMAN PLAN UP AND RUNNING

Value challenge Where these feature-race bets coincide with selections by Pricewise of the Racing Post, they will comprise a Value Challenge.
In the current Flat season so far, Daqman’s bets in the challenge lead Pricewise 24-9. To 10-point level stakes at SP, Daqman is plus 54.11 and Pricewise minus 262.50.
Returns at nominated BETDAQ offers would far exceed Daqman’s current profits but, for fairness, bets are settled at SP, so that there is no argument as to when or for how much a ‘bet’ was struck.
WINNERS this season include 16-1, 14-1, 11-1, 10-1, 11-2 and 5-1
Fortune Cookies Short-priced selections taking a longer view. They are automatic big-race choices to 10-point win stakes, while they remain on the list. Three-year-olds are generally ignored until after the Derby and Oaks.
The first list for 2021 was published yesterday and has its first runner on Saturday.
Supernaps Short-priced selections made on the day to 20-point stakes, currently 6-7 (an 85% strike rate) for 62.84 profit.
WINNERS this season at 6-5, 4-5, 4-7 (twice) and 1-2 (twice).
Naps The daily best bet is usually priced up to around 4-1 (won 9-4 yesterday). A best bet at bigger offers would command a win-50 stake and become a bulls’-eye nap, a rarity indeed.
Staking plan Weekday bets are staked – usually to win 10 points each – so that just one winner brings in a profit or a break-even on the day.
Lays Logic Back to where we came in, looking for value bets. We are also looking for horses which are not value, searching out false favourites, overhyped or simply overbet horses which Daqman recommends for a lay. Lays Logic is currently 6-7 (an 85% strike rate).
BHARANI MAKES STAR APPEAL
⭕ 3.20 Ayr Bharani Star is a hidden horse. Thought so highly of last year that she ran in the Ribblesdale (fourth) and the Oaks.
A winner first time out, she tries to do the same again, dropped hugely in class and with a rare jockey booking for Peter Chapple-Hyam, who engages Paul Hanagan.
The trainer forecasts that she will be in the first three in this quest for some black type and we can take him at his word at the 12.0 offers in the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
YES SIR
⭕ 3.40 Yarmouth It’s a question of dodging the non runners at Yarmouth at this afternoon with 26 at the time of writing and still counting now the ground is soft in places.
We need to seek out the real stamina contenders in the 3.40pm given it’s over the 1m 6f trip.
Sir Canford heads up the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE market and it’s pretty easy to see why. The five-year-old has won over 1m 2f on the flat at Chepstow on soft ground and also has some decent placed efforts over jumps on testing ground. His second to Fraser Island at Newbury was particularly notable.
Silvestre De Sousa rides for the first time today and he’s run well after a break before so the 173 day absence is not a problem.
Tynecastle Park looks far too short for my liking with an inexperienced rider onboard and coming into this on the back of a disappointing effort last time out at Nottingham on soft ground.
There are ground concerns too for Ice Canyon and Tigray.
STEEL HAS CUTTING EDGE
⭕ 7.35 Kempton This class 3 is the race of the night at Kempton and looks very competitive despite only being contested by seven runners.
Goldie Hawk has an obvious chance but looks short enough. The Chris Wall trained filly saw her winning run ended at Windsor last time out but only just. However, she has been bumped up another 2lb by the handicapper and has yet to race at this level.
In contrast, Valyrian Steel will find this much easier than his reappearance run at Epsom where he finished last of five in the Great Metropolitan Handicap. He looked booked for third until the closing stages and should come on plenty for the run. Roger Varian is in great form with 12 winners from his last 41 and Valyrian Steel has low mileage on the clock with plenty of improvement more likely than not.
