BUSY BOXING DAY FILLED WITH SPORT: EMMET RYAN takes a look at the some of the biggest games in the Premier League calendar with an absolutely jam packed day of Football on Boxing Day.

Merry Christmas everyone. Get fed, watch movies, and argue with people you are supposed to like. Once you’ve got that out of the way, it’s time to hunt some winners.

We begin with a look at the London derby in the Emirates as QPR look to pull a big time upset over Arsenal. When I was a lad the idea of taking on QPR on Boxing Day was a particularly perilous prospect as Alex Ferguson’s Man United found out in the dying days of the old Football League. Bettors however live in the here and now and right now, to put it politely, this is an absolutely terrible football team and a solid argument for more than three teams to get relegated. Okay, that’s not really the festive spirit but QPR at home is an excellent fixture for most teams this Boxing Day.

With that in mind it’s always reassuring to know that a great number of people have no faith in Arsenal and that tends to bring value, especially during the early stages of in-play betting. The Gunners gave it away last Sunday against Liverpool and I don’t see them wanting to leave anything in doubt on Friday. It’s tighter than I usually like to go but back Arsenal/Arsenal at 1.78 on the half-time/full-time in this one.

It’s another London derby at the start of the day and, let’s be honest, quite a few of you will be barely out of bed when Chelsea take on West Ham at Stamford Bridge. That could prove interesting in live betting but the real value here is in trusting the Special One to leave one final mark before the end of 2014. At home, in front of a crowd that is stuffed to the gills, I like Chelsea to start out fast and take care of business. Take Chelsea/Chelsea at 1.96 on the half-time/full-time.

Finally we turn out attentions to the Hawthorns where, once again, Man City absolutely need a win to keep their title hopes alive. For West Brom, the business is at the other end of the table where they need to ensure they don’t get caught up in a relegation dogfight. Defensively the Baggies have the ability to frustrate City but once the levy breaks, I like the visitors to push on. With that in mind and the outright looking a little low on value, I’m going with Man City on the Asian Handicap of -1/1.5 at 2.16
