EMMET RYAN PREVIEWS THE MIDWEEK DOMESTIC ACTION IN THREE COUNTRIES: The Champions League is nearly back but some of the top teams across the continent still have important domestic duties this week. We find the best value going across the board.

Brendan Rodgers has one way to restore confidence this term and it’s no stretch to say his very future depends on a trip to Bolton on Wednesday night. Victory in the FA Cup could be enough to keep faith in his tenure at Liverpool. Timing is everything. We’re just a year removed from the most dramatic move seen in the English Premier League for quite some time, when Liverpool mounted an extraordinary run to narrowly miss out on the title. Now, it’s a replay in Bolton that has to be the starting point for the resurrection.

Wanderers are stuck in mid-table in the Championship, there’s a sniff of a relegation fight but in reality this is the biggest game on the board for Bolton for the rest of the season. That adds pressure to Liverpool but with the Reds having returned to form and in much better health of late, I like them to take care of business early. Take Liverpool/Liverpool on the Half-time/Full-time at 2.44

In Napoli, where football is king, when Champions League qualification is in doubt, here’s what they sing: You’d better win the Coppa Italia. Ok, I’m not going to be the next Dean Martin but Wednesday night’s clash of Napoli and Inter carries a great deal of importance for the home side. As it stand, Napoli should make it to the qualifying stages of Europe’s top competition next summer but they badly need a piece of silverware to keep the fans happy. Inter’s continued malaise, coming into this game on the back of two defeats in Serie A, gives little reason to hope for an upset here. That said, the home side are a touch under-rated on the market which gives some room for value on the outright. Play it simple, take Napoli at 1.8.

Real Madrid remain in charge of La Liga but Wednesday night sees them finally play their game in hand. With Atletico and Barcelona biting at their heels, Real know they can’t afford to slip-up against Sevilla in the Bernabeu on Wednesday night. The visitors however won’t be taking this as a game they can simply write-off as their own quest for Champions League qualification is entering the business end. Still, it’s hard to see anything other than a convincing win for the home side here. Take Real Madrid -1.5/2 on the Asian Handicap at 1.85.
