EURO 2016 TUESDAY: The final two games in Group C and Group D. Northern Ireland v Germany and Ukraine v Poland at 5pm and Croatia v Spain plus Czech Republic v Turkey at 8pm. We preview all four games.

N. Ireland v Germany

5pm Germany should be able to win this but at around 1.35, that feels too short to be backing. They didn’t offer a whole lot going forward against Poland in their last game and we think that you could certainly find better 1.35 shots. Northern Ireland are an improving side and surprised everyone with a superb display when beating Ukraine in their last game – they have now lost just once in their last 14 International’s, and while we expected Germany to be too good for them in the end, there’s no reason to think that Northern Ireland can’t put up a decent showing here.

As we said, Germany haven’t been amazing up front in the tournament yet, so we’re not keen to play the handicap markets on Germany – we think that Northern Ireland can keep Germany reasonably under control for a large part of the game ans thus we’re happy to back under 2.5 goals at around the 1.81 mark – Germany should be able to keep Northern Ireland quiet while they might not be able to put three past the them at the other end.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.81.

Ukraine v Poland

5pm Ukraine were really poor against Northern Ireland, and Poland look like a great bet here at around the 1.95 mark, but we don’t expected this game to be a high scoring affair. Ukraine have yet to find the net at Euro 2016 while Poland have never scored more than once at the Euro’s – however, they should be able to beat this Ukraine side and at 1.95 compared to under 2.5 goals at 1.56, we much prefer the Poland bet.

All the evidence suggests we’re in for a bit of a boring match here, and certainly the 1-0 Poland scoreline is worthy of interest at 6.4, and a Poland clean sheet is also of interest at around the 2.2 mark, they have been very solid at the back and Ukraine haven’t offered much going forward. But over all, we’re happy with Poland at 1.95 as our best bet.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Poland to beat Ukraine at 1.95.

Football-Poland

Some Ukraine v Poland facts:

  • This is the first meeting between the sides at a major tournament.
  • Ukraine haven’t scored in their last four games at the European Championships, the joint worst record.
  • Poland can reach the knock-out stages for the first time in their history here.

Croatia v Spain

8pm This should be a brilliant game with two of the sides who have played some of the best football so far at Euro 2016. It will certainly be interesting to see how the Spain defense cope with this Croatian side who have looked very good going forward – they somewhat collapsed at the end of the game to draw with Czech Republic after leading 2-0 and looking in control but they should put up a good fight to a Spanish side who haven’t conceded a single goal in over 650 minutes at the Euro’s!

It could be a cagey affair as Croatia attempt to stop Spain going forward and it’s no surprise to see under 2.5 goals trading around the 1.51 mark, the way Croatia finished against the Czech Republic would suggest though that this Spain attack can score against Croatia and with that in mind we prefer to back the Spain win at 2.06 rather than get involved in the goals market.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Spain to beat Croatia at 2.06.

Football-Croatia

Some Croatia v Spain facts:

  • Spain haven’t conceded at the European Championships in the last 690 minutes.
  • The sides met at the last European Championships, Spain won 1-0.
  • Croatia have only failed to score once in their last 11 European Championship games, and that was against Spain.

Czech Republic v Turkey

8pm A tricky game for betting – it would seem at this stage that even a win for Turkey won’t see them finish with a good enough record to claim one of the best third places to qualify for the last 16 after their 3-0 loss to Spain, so with nothing to play for they might just think ‘to hell with it’ and go all out – they don’t have anything to gain by sitting back like most teams have done so far this tournament.

Turkey on their day should be able to beat this Czech Republic side but they haven’t been great so far in the tournament and Spain really thrashed them – we’re not too keen on backing Czech Republic at 2.32 all the same and we’re going to go with over 2.5 goals at 2.44 hoping the Turkey make it an open game and there’s plenty of goals.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 2.5 goals at 2.44.

Football-CzechRepublic

Some Czech Republic v Turkey facts:

  • The sides shared one win each in Euro 2016 qualifying.
  • Czech Republic have found the net at least once in 12 of their last 13 games at the Euro’s.
  • There has been 31 goals over the last nine meetings between the sides.
