EURO 2016 WEDNESDAY: The final two games in Group E and Group F. Hungary v Portugal and Iceland v Austria at 5pm and Sweden v Belgium plus Italy v Republic of Ireland v Turkey at 8pm. We preview all four games.

Hungary v Portugal

5pm While everyone was busy laughing at Ronaldo for missing the penalty against Austria, Portugal have had a whopping 49 shots at goal in their opening two games, that’s more than anyone else after two games and by quite a distance – they have also conceded the least amount of shots after two games with eight – the teams they have faced may have been poor enough, and more interested in defending, however they really have dominated their opening two games, and just not had the results to show for it.

It’s highly likely they’ll dominate possession and shots again here, but hopefully this time they have something to show at the end of it – but at around 1.45 in the 90 minutes market, we want to look for something a bit bigger – we like Portugal -1 on the Asian Handicap at around 1.8, money back if they win by one is a nice position, and they should be able to click into gear at some stage and when they do they should be able to find the net a few times.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Portugal -1 Asian Handicap at 1.8 to beat Hungary.

Football-Portugal

Iceland v Austria

5pm Iceland have been great value for money in Euro 2016 so far with some brilliant performances from a small nation – their tactics mainly have been sitting back and defending so it’ll be interesting to see how they get on here if they decide to attack. Austria have spent most of their time defending too, they got absolutely battered by Portugal in the last game but somehow managed to get a 0-0 draw and now they’ve gone 32 shots at the European Championships without finding the back of the net.

We see this game being a low scorer with neither side that good in front of goal, under 2.5 goals is currently trading around the 1.6 mark and that will do for us, as it is hard to pick a winner on the match odds here.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.6.

Football-Iceland

Some Iceland v Austria facts:

  • Iceland have only lost once in their last eight competitive matches.
  • The teams have managed just five goals between them in three meetings.
  • Iceland have averaged under 30% possession so far in Euro 2016.

Italy v Republic of Ireland

8pm The big question here is, what team will Italy send out? How many players will they rest will be on every Irish fans lips, however Conte will surely have his final XI well prepped and the idea that he will just send them out and they can play however they like is way off the mark. Ireland were simply out-classed by Belgium and we feel that the markets have over-reacted to the news that Conte will rest players, and Italy at 2.44 in the 90 minutes market looks too big.

Our bet for this one though is Italy draw-no-bet at 1.7 which seems huge value – it’s hard to see this Ireland side beating Italy who have defended superbly thus far, and Ireland have their own problems scoring. Add this to the fact that Conte is unbeaten is his last 12 competitive games as Italy manager, and Italy have only lost two of their 23 games in the European Championships group stages. It’s a massive ask for Ireland to beat them and we certainly feel the markets have overreacted here to the possibility of Italy resting some players.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Italy draw-no-bet to beat Ireland at 1.7.

Football-Ireland

Some Italy v Republic of Ireland facts:

  • Conte is unbeaten in his last 12 competitive games at Italy manager.
  • Italy have only lost two of their 23 group games at the Euro’s.
  • Italy have won eight of the last 13 meetings with Ireland.
  • Ireland didn’t manage a single shot on target in their last game, v Belgium.

Sweden v Belgium

8pm Sweden have been one of the disappointments of Euro 2016 so far, they were really poor in their opening game against Ireland, benefitting from Ireland sitting back after taking the lead and getting a draw, while Italy dealt with them with relative ease. Italy also dealt with Belgium with ease too, however they seemed to find their stride against Ireland and they should be able to out-class this Swedish side and at around 1.9, look value to do so.

It should be a somewhat open game, with Sweden needing to win to have a chance of qualifying, and you’d think that an open game should suit Belgium. We think they will be able to pick Sweden apart as Sweden attack and are happy to support them at around 1.9.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Belgium to beat Sweden at 1.9.

Football-Sweden

Some Sweden v Belgium facts:

  • Sweden have lost five of their last seven games at the European Championships.
  • Lukaku has scored six goals in his last six games for Belgium.
  • Zlatan has yet to have a shot on target at Euro 2016.
