EUROPA LEAGUE THURSDAY: We preview Thursday’s three Europa League games between ARSENAL V BATE BORISOV, VALENCIA V CELTIC and CHELSEA V MALMO FF all with recommended BETDAQ bets.

ARSENAL V BATE BORISOV

5.55pm We seen some very surprising result in the first leg of the Europa League last Thursday, and BATE beating Arsenal 1-0 was one of the most surprising! Arsenal have been impressive in the Premier League this season and considering that BATE hadn’t played competitively for two months prior to last Thursday, the result came as a shock for many. The markets expect Arsenal to bounce back ruthlessly here but with BATE able to hang on to a lead; it will be fascinating to see the tactics here.

Arsenal are very heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Arsenal 1.15, BATE Borisov 26.0 and the draw is 10.0. Surely Arsenal cannot be as bad as they were in the first leg, however it would take a very brave punter to back them at 1.15. It’s hard to see BATE doing anything other than putting 11 men behind the ball here and saying to Arsenal to try break them down. We feel that Arsenal will ultimately run out winners however BATE’s tactics will slow them down and we like the Any Other Home Win (Arsenal to score four or more and win) lay at 2.9 in the Correct Score market.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Any Other Home Win at 2.9.

VALENCIA V CELTIC

5.55pm There’s no doubt that Celtic are in for a tough night at the office here after being simply outclassed last Thursday in front of their home fans. Valencia had a tough Group in the Champions League and you could really see the gulf in class now that they’ve dropped back into the Europa League. For Celtic being two goals behind and away from home there’s only one thing that they can do and that’s ‘go for it’ – they have nothing to lose now so they may as well attack and hope to put Valencia under as much pressure as possible.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Valencia 1.65, Celtic 6.2 and the draw is 4.1. We have to say that Valencia look massive at 1.65 here – Celtic barely got through the Europa League Group stages, needing results elsewhere to go their way, and they really aren’t as good away from home in Europa compared to their record at home. We can’t see them improving from last week and Valencia can take advantage of Celtic having to attack with them being behind in the tie. The 1.65 looks at least ten ticks too big.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Valencia to beat Celtic at 1.65.

CHELSEA V MALMO FF

8pm It’s not a good time to be a Chelsea fan at the moment. They were embarrassed when losing 6-0 to Manchester City, shaky with beating Malmo last week and put in their place when losing 2-0 to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Monday night. Moral looks at rock bottom and you have to wonder if they didn’t have the League Cup Final at the weekend would Sarri be gone? He looks likely to be gone anyway as it’s hard not to see Manchester City beating Chelsea looking at the way they are playing at the moment.

As we said last week, we won’t learn much about Chelsea here playing a side at such a low level and the markets expect to see a home win. The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Chelsea 1.28, Malmo FF 15.5 and the draw is 6.2. It would take nerves of steel to lump on Chelsea at 1.28 here given their troubles at the moment but they should get the job done nonetheless. We expect Sarri to perhaps rest a few players, having one eye on the massive final at the weekend, and we feel it’s worth backing Malmo on the handicap here. We had success last week and there’s no reason why Malmo can’t keep this one close again – they’re trading 2.1 +1.5 goals and that looks worth backing.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Malmo FF +1.5 goals to beat Chelsea at 2.1.
