FA CUP MONDAY: We preview Monday’s FA Cup 4th Round game between BARNET v BRENTFORD with extended stats and Betdaq’s own recommended bet.

BARNET V BRENTFORD

7.45pm The FA Cup Fourth Round ends on Monday night with Barnet hosting Brentford with the home side looking for another Championship scalp after beating Sheffield United in the third round. The market is expecting an away win though with Brentford trading odds on favourites – the match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Barnet 10.0, Brentford 1.41 and the draw is 5.1.

Brentford are unbeaten in their last 13 games against Barnet; although stats like those count for little going into tonight’s fixture. We’re bound to have an excellent atmosphere and the home fans will be hoping to see some “magic of the FA Cup” no doubt! Barnet are in solid form winning eight of their last 13 games heading into tonight however they are still struggling in the National League.

It’s hard to know what to make of Barnet given their position in the league however it’s clear that they are really enjoying their football in the FA Cup this season and this is their chance to reach the Fifth Round for the first time in their history. Brentford come into this tie unbeaten in seven games and that’s no mean feat over the busy Christmas period and it’s fair to say that despite playing non-league opposition we will see a strong side from the away team.

We expect a pretty close game here with Barnet having home advantage and looking Brentford’s away form this season would have to be a worry if you were backing them at 1.41. They have just one win from their 14 away league games – add that to the fact that it’s highly likely that Barnet will raise their game for the FA Cup and the 1.41 looks more than a little short. Under 2.5 goals is tempting at 2.08 however we’re happy to lay Brentford at 1.41 – we expect a closer game than those odds suggest.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Brentford at 1.41.
