FA CUP MONDAY: We preview Monday’s mouthwatering FA Cup Fifth Round game between CHELSEA v MAN U with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended stats.

CHELSEA V MANCHESTER UNITED

7.30pm We have a repeat of last year’s FA Cup Final on Monday as Chelsea host Manchester United. This is undoubtedly the highlight of the round and we have two sides looking to bounce back into form. United were absolutely played off the park by PSG in the Champions League and while that may dent their confidence; you have to remember that they’ve been very impressive domestically – they have come up short at elite level but it’s fair to say that Chelsea are playing very far from elite level.

A 6-0 embarrassing loss against City was followed up by an awkward 2-1 win against Malmo in the Europa League; a win that wouldn’t tell us much about the state of the dressing room in Chelsea at the moment. They look like a team going backwards and another loss here would pile pressure on Sarri – United haven’t won at Stamford Bridge since 2012 all in competitions – they’ve actually just won twice from their last 22 away games against Chelsea.

Chelsea are clear favourites in the market with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Chelsea 2.02, Manchester United 4.1 and the draw is 3.75. Chelsea look too short at 2.02 here; even allowing for United’s poor long-term record at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been woeful lately, highlighted by their 4-0 loss to Bournemouth recently and if United play the same kind of game that seen them beat Arsenal away from home in the last round, we feel that they have a great chance here.

We expect a very close game but we simply have to lay Chelsea at 2.02 – it’s hard to make a case for backing them at those odds looking at the way that they have been playing lately. United took a big knock against PSG and have some injuries; but we expect to see a game that is a lot closer than odds of 2.02 suggest on Chelsea.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Chelsea at 2.02.
