GAVIN CROMWELL: Six runners for Brand Ambassador Gavin Cromwell this weekend including Sunset Shiraz who could will be hard to beat should the rain fall.

Curragh Saturday

Giselles Ausie was a good maiden winner the last day at Navan, she was a little green to begin with but finished really well and would have learned a lot. You’d have to expect some improvement from that first run and she’s settled out of the race really nice, so she comes here in good form. She’s up slightly in trip slightly to 6f (1.25pm) and we’re quietly confident she’ll be there or thereabouts.

Listowel Saturday

Wolf Prince was a very good juvenile and finished second in a G2 over Christmas last year and had another second to his name in another G2 before that. He’s had a stop start go of it this year and he was certainly disappointing over fences for us at Wexford, but we’re back over hurdles here in the 2m4f handicap (2.15pm). We’re using James O’Sullivan’s 5lb claim so it should make life a little easier for him, we know he has the class, it’s just a question of whether he can rediscover some of that past form. We’ll be disappointed if he’s not involved at the end.

I Can’t Remember has improved with every run so farbut he has struggled with his jumping, so he’ll need to improve again here in the 2m4f handicap hurdle (2.50pm). He’s only a four-year-old so is one of the younger ones in the field, but he is a nice horse and hopefully will run well if he can prove to be sharp enough for it. Pullyersocksup goes in the same race, and this is his first handicap start. He hasn’t shown much in his maiden hurdles so far, so we’ll have to see where we are with him after the race, but this is definitely his grade. The concern is things might just happen a bit quickly for him.

Falco Du Sauzay is a tricky one and he goes in another 2m4f handicap hurdle (3.25pm). He can be a difficult ride although he finished a good second the last day in Bellewstown when settling a bit better. If he can manage to settle again over this longer trip, which we think he needs, then he should have a decent chance. If he applies himself, he certainly has enough ability, but he is a character and who knows how he’ll decide to run.

Curragh Sunday

Sunset Shiraz takes her chance in the G3 Weld Park Stakes over 7f (2.30pm) on Sunday. She was a very good third in the G1 the last day on Champions Weekend, but she will need every drop of rain that’s forecast to fall on the Curragh if she’s going to run. There’s heavy rain forecast for Sunday afternoon so hopefully it comes a bit earlier as she’ll struggle to run otherwise. If it does come, she’s in terrific nick and she’ll be one of the leading fancies.
