GAVIN CROMWELL: Six runners for Brand Ambassador Gavin Cromwell to preview this weekend, including two debutants.

Navan Saturday

Shantou Lucky runs in the 2-mile handicap hurdle (2.20pm). He won earlier in the season at Down Royal over this trip, and he’s been a little bit disappointing since, although he ran well enough the last day at Ballinrobe. He’s come on for that run and we’re hopeful he will show more than he has done in his last couple of races.

Elderado was third last time in a Downpatrick maiden hurdle and goes back into handicap company now up in trip over 2m5½f (4.40pm). He goes into this race in grand nick and we’re very hopeful that he’ll put up a good showing.

Conna Cottage is a lovely horse making his debut for us (5.10pm). We bought him at the Cheltenham May Sale after he was second in a point-to-point. He goes about his work nicely at home, but whatever he does on Saturday he’s sure to improve on. He’s a really nice horse for the future.

Listowel Sunday

It took a while for Faith Du Val to get her head in front, but we always thought a bit of her. She won well first time over hurdles at Sligo. She’s in the mares hurdle (2.00pm) and is probably wrong at the weights with a couple of rivals but we’ve decided to take our chance and we’ll see where we stand with her after this.

Shes Some Doll runs in the 2m4f mares handicap hurdle (2.30pm). She’s been consistent without getting her head in front, although she did win at Limerick last Christmas. This track and trip look to be right up her street, so she goes there with a good each-way chance.

Pyramid Hill makes his debut in the bumper (5.00pm). He’s another nice horse and whatever he does he’ll improve on as this is his first day at school. We’re hopeful he can run a nice race before kicking on for the rest of the year.
