GREYHOUNDS: It’s Round Two of the Derby on Friday and we preview each heat below.

Heat 1

1️⃣ Glengar Scholar
2️⃣ Seomra Razl
3️⃣ Callmesteve
4️⃣ Swift Woof
5️⃣ Derrinasafa Boss
6️⃣ Faughan Rebel

Verdict: The evergreen Faughan Rebel added another victory to his tally last weekend when coming from well off the pace to score in 29:32 (fastest of this line-up) He shows no sign of stopping despite approaching his fifth birthday. Callmesteve was another to come from well of the pace when he got up late to deny Glengar Scholar who reopposes in trap one. Preference is for Glengar Scholar to get revenge this weekend, he posses more early pace than his main rivals and could be gone beyond recall. Swift Woof has a good draw in four and looks a threat.

Selection: Glengar Scholar

Heat 2

1️⃣ Signet Denver
2️⃣ Ballymac Belvult
3️⃣ Lemon Bartacus
4️⃣ Innfield Trojan
5️⃣ Sporting Chile
6️⃣ Amaze Me Seb

Verdict: Former record holder Sporting Chile is the one to focus on in heat two. He ran much better than the placings suggest last week behind Spinosaurus when he was impeded on more than one occasion. He is strongly fancied to return to winning ways in this. Signet Denver in one rates the main danger, a good winner of his last two starts he is perfectly drawn in red.

Selection: Sporting Chile

Heat 3

1️⃣ Longrange Dick
2️⃣ Aussie Captain
3️⃣ Spinosaurus
4️⃣ Headford Mike
5️⃣ Daring Deise
6️⃣ Narcos Dode

Verdict: Spinosaurus beat a good field in round one when he made all for Jim Turner but as we have seen before he is not always the most consistent of starters and he will move to his left on the run to the corner. Daring Deise was a shock $21 winner last week but looks to be an improving young greyhound. Headford Mike ran well behind a good winner last week and has the best of the draw. Narcos Dode will be finishing fastest of all.

Selection: Headford Mike

Heat 4

1️⃣ Cushie Concorde
2️⃣ Hello Hammond
3️⃣ Kilkenny Santy
4️⃣ Stefans Rocket
5️⃣ Ballymore Border
6️⃣ Coppice Brewer

Verdict: Cushie Concorde ran a promising race behind his kennel companion Ballinabola Ed in round one and he has a major chance to make all in heat four. Hello Hammond and Kilkenny Santy are better over further and may struggle to the corner. Ex Irish tracker Stefans Rocket can fly to the turn on his day and certainly has a nice draw in four. Former Dublin Cup winner Ballymore Border outran his odds last week and remains a dog to keep on side. Cushie Concorde will look to make all but do not ignore Stefans Rocket in four.

Selection: Stefans Rocket

Heat 5

1️⃣ Skywalker Forte
2️⃣ Swift Iconic
3️⃣ Burnchurch Mick
4️⃣ Jumeirah Jimmy
5️⃣ Milton Noah
6️⃣ All About Ted

Verdict: Last years Irish Derby finalist All About Ted was back to his brilliant best from this box last week and its hard to see anything troubling him if he can put in a repeat performance. Burnchurch Mick may well improve for his latest outing and will try to make all from box three.

Selection: All About Ted

Heat 6

1️⃣ Deadly Showtime
2️⃣ Borna Wine
3️⃣ Da Bold Freddie
4️⃣ Narcos The Great
5️⃣  Signet Goofy
6️⃣ Droopys Goodtime

Verdict: Plenty of early pace in heat six where the early lead is crucial. Da Bold Freddie ran out an ultra-impressive winner last week when making all. Deadly showtime was also foot perfect last time and it should be a fascinating battle to the corner. Signet Goofy has some smart sprint form and was another to make all in round one. The draw may just swing it and for that reason we will side with Deadly Showtime.

Selection: Deadly Showtime

Heat 7

1️⃣ Freedom Alibi
2️⃣ Deelish Frankie
3️⃣ Ballymac Leon
4️⃣ Bockos Belly
5️⃣ Ballinaboola Ed
6️⃣ Narcos Tata

Verdict: Ballinabola Ed was one of the most taking winners of the first round and you get the impression there is plenty more to come from Pat Buckley’s young star tracker. He now finds himself as favourite in most ante post lists an its easy to see why. The draw looks ideal. Last years semi finalist Bockos Belly returned to something like his best when winning his first-round heat but faces a tricky draw. Liam Dowling’s Ballmac Leon was another who really impressed in round one and has a nice draw in box three, he should give the favourite most to think about.

Selection: Ballinabola Ed

Heat 8

1️⃣ Antigua Cuddles
2️⃣ Farneys Maestro
3️⃣ Signet Ace
4️⃣ Skywalker Stan
5️⃣ Bubbly Apache
6️⃣ Savana Camino

Verdict: The final heat on Friday night will be dominated in the market by Bubbly Apache. He showed massive early pace to go clear last week before being caught in the dying strides by the blitz finish of Barefoot Supremo. He can be expected to come on for the run and looks the one to side with. Antigua Cuddles is always on the premises at the business end while there may be more to come from Farneys Maestro.

Selection: Bubbly Apache
