PREVIEW

Stuttgart will look to build on their 3-0 victory against Hannover when they travel to the Dreisamstadion to face Freiburg. Tonight’s hosts are hovering above the relegation places and are in need of three points to maintain the gap between themselves and Augsburg.

Freiburg are currently fourteenth in the Bundesliga and come into the clash off the back of a 7-0 hammering at Bayern Munich. Conceding seven goals will have severely damaged confidence amongst the squad, even though the league leaders are in cracking form at the minute.

Manager Marcus Sorg will have had a tough job on his hands trying to raise spirits amongst the squad to help put last weekend’s disaster behind them. It’s not all doom and gloom for Freiburg as they did pick up six points from their two league games against Stuttgart last season. Freiburg will need to show plenty of fighting spirit tonight to have a chance, just as they did when they came from a goal down to beat Stuttgart at home on their last visit.

However, Die Roten were relegation contenders in 2010/11 and have looked much improved under the guidance of Bruno Labbadia. Stuttgart have been pretty inconsistent since August, but I fancy them to register their first away win of the season here. Freiburg’s defending at the Allianz Arena was dreadful and Die Rotten can take advantage of some nerves at the back. My advice would be to back Stuttgart to win successive league games at around 2.16 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back VbF Stuttgart at around 2.16:  4 points
Thursday’s Return: +10 points
