12 Oct 2010 Euro Qualifier England 0-0 Montenegro
England take on Montenegro for their last qualifying game requiring only a point to secure their place in the Euro 2012 finals next summer.
Wayne Rooney made a comeback from his hamstring strain at the weekend and Fabio Capello will be delighted to be able to call upon his leading scorer tonight. Although Rooney failed to score against Norwich, he’s made a fantastic start to the new season with eleven goals across all competitions.
If England had performed better at Wembley then they should have already qualified by now. Two disappointing draws in front of their own fans means that Montenegro have an outside chance of claiming top spot. Capello’s side have a 100% record on their travels and another win here can be backed at around 1.79 on BETDAQ,
It won’t be a walk in the park for England, who will have to work for a result as the hosts are yet to taste defeat at home – winning two of their three games.
Montengro started Group G in excellent form with three wins on the trot, before holding the Three Lions to a goalless draw at Wembley. But then came a draw against Bulgaria, shortly followed by a surprise defeat to Wales to give back the advantage to England. Following that run of results, Dejan Savicevic, the federation president, sacked the manager to leave the side with an almighty hill to climb.
Stevan Jovetic and Mirko Vucinic make a handy pair up front and Jovetic has started Serie A brightly with two goals in three league outings. Those that fancy an upset here can get 6.2 on BETDAQ for a Montenegrin triumph.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back England at around 1.79: 5 points
