PREVIEW

Andy Roddick and Fernando Verdasco meet later today for a place in the semi-finals of the 2011 Queen’s championship. Having needed three sets to get the better of Feliciano Lopez in the opening round, Roddick went onto beat South African Kevin Anderson 6-4, 6-4 yesterday afternoon.

The American is playing only his third ATP World Tour tournament since March because of injury, but he has looked solid on the grass thus far. There was no sign of his injured right shoulder while playing Anderson.

Verdasco will be full of confidence heading into this clash after handing David Nalbandian a 7-5, 6-2 defeat. The Spaniard had to defend four break points before taking his chances to reach the quarter-finals at Queen’s for the first time in four tournaments.

The head-to-head record is firmly in Roddick’s favour, 9-3, and with his win against Anderson, he took his record at Queen’s to 31-5. Roddick looks in good touch and he’s a good bet at around 1.48 on the ‘Daq’ to reach the semis and remain in the running for a fifth title in West London.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Roddick to win at around 1.48: 5 points

Thursday’s Return: +2.76 points
