Ipswich will hope to keep a clean sheet at home tonight when they host Coventry City, who sit directly below them in the Championship table – the Suffolk-based team have conceded 16 goals in six league games.
With only one home win secured so far, against Leeds United over three weeks ago, Ipswich need all three points tonight to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Coventry have only mustered one win all campaign, but that came in their last game against Derby County. Manager Andy Thorn will be hoping that the home victory will have kick-started City’s season.
Thorn will be reminding his men that they won 2-1 away in their encounter last season at Portman Road and the Sky Blues can also welcome back striker Clive Platt to their squad for tonight’s fixture.
The hosts are hopeful for the return of Ivar Ingimarsson, Mark Kennedy, Ibrahima Sonko and Lee Bowyer, but Lee Martin is still sidelined as he serves his last of a three-match ban. Fellow Tractor Boy, Nathan Ellington will, though, be in contention following his hat-trick for the reserves in an 8-1 thrashing of Gillingham.
As Coventry have only taken one point from their travels, Ipswich’s home advantage gives them the edge. Back them to win at around 2.17 on BETDAQ.
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Ipswich at around 2.17: 4 points
Sunday’s Return: +5.34 points
